Nails Shop Paris Episode 10 (Final) Summary July 1, 2013

The tenth episode starts with Alex telling Yeo-Joo that he likes her and Kei phones her and she leaves to answer it.

The next day Yeo-Joo comes in and tells the boss that she wants to quit Paris and the Boss tells her to come with her on her errand. Kei grabs her arm before she leaves and asks why and she tells him that it is because everybody knows. As they are driving the Boss asks why she is quitting and she tells her that she had lied to her and the Boss says it is because she is really a woman and not a man. They get out of the car and Yeo-Joo recognizes the place and the Boss says that 16 years ago Yeo-Joo got lost in that mountain and she was the one that rescued her. The boss says that Yeo-Joo recognized this necklace before and it starts glowing. Yeo-Joo says that it was fake and the Boss says that she had to trick her. The boss tells her that she is trying to help her again like before and that her fictional stories about  their being a mutation born between hum and Gumiho is what Yeo-Joo is.

Yeo-Joo is at home and remember what the Boss told her and that she is Gumiho but before she is awakened she is just like a normal person and that if she is awakened past the age of 20 many things will change. Yeo-Joo then phones her dad.

Ji-Soo runs to join Jin because he is being interviewed again by the same paper and they go into the cafe together. The reporter asks who she is and then says that she thought he didn’t have a girlfriend and she wrote that previously. After it is over Ji-Soo is mad and Jin tries to explain he had that written for his fans and she is mad that he chose his fans over her and she says that she even left the hospital for Jin. Jin then gets angry because of that Intern Doctor Jeong that she was having a relationship with. He pulls her in the cab because he can’t walk her home. Ji-Soo cries in the cab.

Yeo-Joo goes to visit her dad who is feeding his sheep. Yeo-Joo scolds him for not being more happy to see her and give her a hug and he acts gruff with her. She asks him what her mom was like because her grandma told her that she died in a car accident when she was a baby. He tells her that she didn’t die but ran away after her birth and he felt sorry he couldn’t be nicer to her because she reminded her of her mother. Yeo-Joo asks if he has any photos of her and he tells her if he finds it he will send it to her. Yeo-Joo is helping her dad with the fence and he tells her that she should clear things up back home because he knew something was wrong because she never phones or comes home. He tells her that no matter what she hears or see she should block it out and do what she wants.

Jin goes to the flower shop to pick out flowers for Ji-Soo and texts her that he is coming with an apology. The Doctor Jeong appears before her outside her house and he tells her that disappearing wouldn’t end things between them and that he doesn’t want to like a girl who has a boyfriend but he knows that she likes him too and that she had already made him fall for her. She tries to protest and he tells her that she needs to clarify things when Jin is walking towards them with flowers.

He tells Dr. Jeong to takes his hands off of her and punches him and Ji-Soo scolds him Jin gets mad and leaves. Ji-Soo stomach hurts and Dr. Jeong asks if she is okay.

Yeo-Joo gets off the bus and she gets a call from the hospital so she goes to see Ji-Soo. Dr. Jeong tells her that the infection got worse and that she will need to stay here a while. Jin comes and Dr. Jeong pulls him out to talk to him. Dr. Jeong punches Jin and tells him that it was for Ji-Soo and that she left the hospital as if she was running away from something and that she did that for him to maintain their relationship and that even when in pain she was calling for him. He tells him that Ji-Soo is too good for Jin.

Alex and Kei are at Paris and Alex tells Kei that the customers are complaining about him and that he needs to know the line between personal and professional. Kei gets mad that Alex isn’t affected by Yeo-Joo leaving and Alex says that he encouraged his feeling for Yeo-Joo. Kei tells him that he didn’t want Yeo-Joo to be forced to quit. Alex asks him to promise that they can still remain friends no matter who Yeo-Joo chooses and Kei just walks past him.

The next day Jin and Yeo-Joo are at the hospital and Yeo-Joo asks him where he has been and he goes in to talk to Ji-Soo. Jin recalls yesterday and he went out with Alex and was told that he should go back to Ji-Soo and that even if she had felt something for Dr. Jeong she has realized who she really likes now and if he doesn’t stay next to her that she would feel very sad.

Ji-Soo apologizes that she didn’t want to hurt his feelings. He apologizes too for misunderstanding and not trusting her. She says he is a good boyfriend and he kisses her on the lips and then on the cheek. 

Yeo-Joo is watching outside and then sees Dr. Jeong as she turns around and he walks away. Yeo-Joo gets a call from Alex and goes to Paris. Alex asks if she is really quitting and she says that he and Kei are having a hard time because of her. He asks if she is going to take the exam and it would be a waste because she spent so much time preparing. He gets her to promise that she will take it. Alex text Kei to come at 8 to the shop. Alex tells her that no matter how she chooses either him or Kei has to leave here and she says she can’t let it happen. He says he doesn’t want to leave either or leave her and then hugs her. Kei walks in and sees them hugging and walks out. 

Yeo-Joo bows to Alex and then runs after Kei. She begs him to listen to her because it is a misunderstanding. He is angry she was hugging Alex without even talking to him because he has been worried. He asks if the misunderstanding is that she wants to be with Alex and now she can’t because he is bothering her. She tells him that she liked Alex and that she stills does but without him it means nothing. She starts crying and says if she lost Alex it would hurt her heart but if she lost Kei she would die and that she likes him. She starts crying harder and grabs him arms saying not to go and he then pulls her into a hug.
 

Kei and Yeo-Joo are sitting on a bench and he asks when she is going to give him the ring. She pulls it out and puts it on his hand. He asks about hers and she hasn’t brought it and he tells her that she was supposed to wear it everyday and warns her not to be around any guys.

Jin is feeding Ji-Soo at the hospital and Ji-Soo asks Yeo-Joo is going to go back to Paris and she doesn’t know but she is going to take the test. Jin goes to get ice cream. Yeo-Joo meets Kei at her exam and he didn’t get lost and she shows him her ring. He gives her a nail filer and it is the nail filer he used for his exam and the competitions he has won. She jokes it is old and then he tries to take it back. She jokes about him being so sensitive and mentions if Alex hadn’t told him to come last night she wonders if she wouldn’t have seen him and then it would have been completely over.

At the shop Alex had to tells something to the boss and when Alex comes out Kei asks to talk to him. Kei asks why Alex sent him the text last night and Alex says he thought it would clear things up faster and Kei tells him to stop pretending. Kei tells him that Yeo-Joo said that if he hadn’t called him their relationship would have completely ended and tells him it would’ve been better for Alex to have ignored him. Alex says that Yeo-Joo picked Kei anyways and Kei isn’t happy he did that. Alex tells him that he is going abroad to study and that he has already booked the ticket and is going this next week. Yeo-Joo comes in and has heard it all and Kei says he thought she should know too. Kei is outside and Alex and Yeo-Joo are talking she asks why he did that and he tells her he wanted her to stay with him and not go after Kei and but now he is glad she didn’t because he wanted her to express her feeling and be happy. So he wants to give her a gift and gives her a one of a kind manicure and tells her that by the time the manicure is gone all that happened here will become a beautiful memory.

Jin is at the hospital and calls the reporter to tell her that he want the article changed to say he has a gorgeous girlfriend. The Dr. has overheard and Jin tells him that he is never going to give up Ji-Soo, 2 nurses run by and the Dr. asks what is wrong and Ji-Soo is in danger. They all go in and the Dr. is mad that she was given ice cream to eat. Yeo-Joo comes and she asks the Dr. what has happened and he tells her that she has enterobiasis and it means that there is a hole in her intestine and has made her bleed and they can’t do surgery because her blood pressure is too low. Yeo-Joo holds Ji-Soo’s hand and a light glows from Yeo-Joo and then Ji-Soo’s blood pressure goes up and they order the surgery.

Yeo-Joo is waiting and she recalls the Boss telling her that if she is awakened past 20 she will have a strong healing power and the ability to foresee the future and her biorhythm will become different from normal people. Yeo-Joo gets a text from her dad with his wedding picture and it is a picture of the Boss.
 

Yeo-Joo is at Paris and she confront the Boss about her being her mother and the Boss says that he day she got lost in the mountain she went out following someone and that she went there for a few minutes and then left and when she saw her miss her footing and fell down the mountain she couldn’t stand there and watch. She asks Yeo-Joo if she can forgive her mother and Yeo-Joo says there is no way and that it can’t be happening.

The Boss says that she didn’t want to leave but when she realized that her dad couldn’t turn her into a human she knew that when people got older she would always stay the same and couldn’t stay with her like that. Yeo-Joo then says that she can’t believe what she is saying but she will believe that she is helping her just like 16 years ago and that she will believe that. The Boss then hugs her. The Boss tells Yeo-Joo that she is going into a long hibernation soon and it is unavoidable because she is completely awakened as a gumiho and that she wants to tell her something so that she doesn’t have to live the way she did. In her novels she describes a hunter and a helper and that she wanted to help her meet the hunter so she didn’t have to live as a Gumiho forever. Yeo-Joo ask if she is saying that Alex was really a helper.

In Yeo-Joo’s story Kei has Alex pinned down and is about to kill Alex when Yeo-Joo kills Kei instead. 

Yeo-Joo is upset and says she had no other choice and Alex takes her back to the shop and says he is going to show him who he really is now and they hold hands and he they open the doors and it is a bright light.

It is 6 years later and 2 young guys working at Paris are reading the story online and talking about how it is an open ending. Yeo-Joo is the Boss and they ask her if Alex was really the helper. 

A little girl comes running in calling mom and runs to Yeo-Joo, she tells her that Hoya keeps telling her that she is ugly and Yeo-Joo tells her that they will have to get her dad to scold him. 

Alex and Kei come in the door and the girl goes running to her dad Kei. Yeo-Joo’s mom narrates that she never knows who is the helper and who is the hunter but even if she chooses the wrong guy and live the rest of her life as a Gumiho as long as she has Alex next to her she will never feel lonely because Alex is also half Gumiho like her. 

One of the guys working tells Chief who is Alex that he got a letter from Japan. It is a letter from Jin and Ji-Soo and it is a picture of Ji-Soo and Jin in front of a nail salon in Japan.

They complain they never call and Alex asks if they should call them then and they agree. The little girl sees the cat and looks outside at it and her eyes turn red and then there is no cat.
 

Well this was an expected and unexpected ending for me! I really wasn’t expecting the Boss to be Yeo-Joo’s mother. I did think that the Boss was going to be a gumihoo but I didn’t expect Yeo-Joo to be half gumiho. It wasn’t quite clear about what that meant for Yeo-Joo, I guessed based on her story if she doesn’t find the human to make her human she will stay as a gumiho. In her story Kei was killed and Alex was the one for her so that was  a bit confusing when in reality she chose Kei and not Alex. I have to say 6 years later and she has a little girl that looks about 6 years!! Her and Kei will have had to have children almost right away? Why did Jin and Ji-Soo have to go to Japan? The boss was going into hibernation I am not exactly sure what that meant?  I didn’t really understand that but does that mean the gumiho part of her was already awakened before she got older? So if her little girl is gumiho does that mean that she wasn’t turned human by Kei? because if Kei had turned her human wouldn’t her child be human as well?? I just have to say poor Alex he sure gets the raw end of the deal! I mean if he finds his true love wouldn’t he turn human as well? He does have the potential to turn human and she got be left leaving as a gumiho alone? The whole living forever part kinda reminds me of twilight! so I kinda felt like a flashback and also with the half human part of everything!! I can’t say I love the comparison! I guess I have to say it was a shocking ending and I have to hand it to the writers for doing that just for the end and not making every episode about it!! I have not enjoyed every part of this drama but I think overall it was fairly entertaining and enjoyable! I never got bored watching it and I have to say that Kei really was a star in this drama!! I found it to be a fulfilling end and I am sooo happy that the writers did not leave an open ending like the ending in Yeo-Joo’s novel! I don’t think I could fully say goodbye to the drama if they did that!! The ending was a bit confusing but overall it seems to answer the basic questions like Yeo-Joo and Kei ending up together and Alex still being able to be around them and stay friends!  One thing is that they never told us if she passed the exam I am assuming that she did because in the future she is working at the shop.  I also didn’t understand that Yeo-Joo doesn’t remember her mother because she was going after her mother and then she saves her and how does she not recognize that the gumiho is her mother? She was literally looking for her mother and then her mother saves her that is just a little too unbelievable!! I also do not understand the ending where her child looks for the cat and then her eyes glow and it shows no cat there? is she seeing an imaginary cat or did she make it leave with her powers???

I am happy that I watched this drama and I will miss it! I did not always agree with the subject matter in this drama but overall I think it was an enjoyable drama. I loved that there was a lot more skinship in this drama Kei kisses Yeo-Joo a good amount of times and they seem like more of what a realistic couple would be like! not just one kiss for the whole drama. I am glad that I was wrong about Alex becoming the final love interest and Kei did not end up getting hurt!!

Nail Shop Paris Episode 9 Summary June 24, 2013

The 9th episode starts with Yeo-Joo writing her story and Yeo-Joo can’t make her decision who to trust and Kei shoots Alex in the arm and pulls Yeo-Joo out. Alex comes after them and he still tells her that he loves her and Kei tries to shoot again and Yeo-Joo pushes the gun out his hand with her powers. Alex runs at Kei and they fight and Kei pins Alex down and pulls out his knife. Ji-Soo interrupts the story and asks if Alex is going to die and if something happened. Yeo-Joo tells her that she kissed Alex and that the next day he ignored her and avoided her so she feels that he thinks she is a freak. Ji-Soo complains of a stomach ache and Yeo-Joo tells her to go see a doctor and she says she will just take a digestive.

The next day Alex avoids her and Kei comes in and pulls her aside. He gives her couple rings and he puts it on her finger and he puts his on too so that no one can come in between their relationship and then he hugs her. The whole staff gathers and the Boss tells them that Alex is going on vacation for a week.  Yeo-Joo phones Ji-Soo and tells her about the vacation and that he is doing it because he doesn’t even want to see her anymore.Ji-Soo tells her to focus on Kei because she heard from Jin that he really worries about her.

As Ji-Soo is leaving a man asks if she can do a makeup touch up for someone. A man comes in and she can tell he is nervous so she tells him to sing and dance to calm down. He sings Nobody But You not very well and she laughs but tells him to keep singing.

Alex goes to visit a lady in a wheel chair and you find out she was the one he did surgery on and made a bad decision. She tells him that she does exercises and that by fall she might have to walk on crutches but she can stand up and that he can stop coming here. She tells him that it was her fault that she asked him to treat her at the hospital. She also tells him that after the accident that not just her but he also lost something that meant a lot like passion, ambition, spirit and that when they meet again she hopes they will both be different.

Yeo-Joo and Kei are going out for lunch together they joke around and he tries to kiss her but she won’t let him because people will see. They joke around and she bumps into a woman. The lady says she is okay but Yeo-Joo gives her her card in case she doesn’t feel good. The girl goes back to her work and the boss gives her a  hard time because she took too long. The boss asks her to get another one to bring tea because she is ugly. She tells the other girl to bring the tea and they are annoyed because they are always be asked to do things because they pretty and no one asks her to do it because she isn’t.

Yeo-Joo is studying for her exam and Kei goes to check her work and he gives her advice while sitting very close. He makes her hug him for the good advice and then asks if she doesn’t like being hugged she tells him it isn’t that she doesn’t like it and then he picks her up and then puts her down and tries to get a kiss but she sends him home.

Jin and Ji-Soo are out for supper and Jin was worried she lost her appetite. He feed her and she gets sick and is taken to the hospital. Yeo-Joo comes and they are told it is Crohn’s disease. One of the interns is the guy that sang for Ji-Soo and they are friendly with each other.

 The next day Yeo-Joo and Jin are working and he is obsessing over the intern that Ji-Soo was friendly with and he feels jealous. The girl that Yeo-Joo bumped a few days ago comes in and wants a manicure from Yeo-Joo. Yeo-Joo is able to give her a hand massage and her name is Jeong-Ah and Yeo-Joo compliments her on her hands and tells her that from the her hands she can tell that she is honest and has a soft heart.

Yeo-Joo goes to the hospital and the intern and Ji-Soo are talking together and playing with their hands together. The intern leaves and she tells Yeo-Joo the story of how they met. Yeo-Joo asks her why she isn’t wondering where Jin and she tells her that he had an interview for a nail artist show.

Jin is at the interview and she asks why men are good nail artists and he tells her that you can feel stability and warmth through touch while getting a manicure from a guy and it always gives a nervous tension from male to female. She asks if she is single and he tells to put whatever she thinks is best.

The next day Jin reads the article and Yeo-Joo reads it and finds the part where it says he doesn’t have a girlfriend and he says that he did it for the fans. Jeong-Ah comes in again with a different hairstyle and asks for a hand massage from Yeo-Joo again. Jin and Kei notice that Jeong-Ah has a crush on Yeo-Joo. Jeong-Ah at work is admiring her nails and the other girls make fun of her.

Yeo-Joo goes to the hospital and finds Ji-Soo outside with the intern and Ji-Soo looks really surprised to see her and Yeo-Joo waits in the room. She tells her that nothing happened between her and the intern that they were just talking. Yeo-Joo asks is she likes him and Yeo-Joo says no, but she tells her that she has known her for years and that it is hard to control feelings but not to be so harsh to him because he is a good guy. Yeo-Joo leaves and meets Jeong-Ah and she tells her that she burnt her hand. Yeo-Joo tells her that she will walk her home because she could be her future client and that she should be nice to her. Jeong-Ah invites her in and makes her spaghetti for supper. Yeo-Joo notices a knife with blood on it. Jin is at the hospital with Ji-Soo and she asks if she should leave because she is feeling better and she says she is worried about the bill and that she is fine now. He tells her that he doesn’t like her with the doctor and agrees that she should leave. While Yeo-Joo is eating with Jeong-Ah when Kei phones her and wants to meet up with her . Jeon-Ah asks if it is her girlfriend and she says it is something like that. Yeo-Joo gets up to leave and Jeong-Ah begs her to stay a little more and Yeo-Joo says no Jeong-Ah grabs her and kisses her.

Yeo-Joo pushes her away and Jeong-Ah asks if it is because she is ugly and fat and Yeo-Joo asks what she is talking about and says it isn’t right and runs out. 

Kei meets her outside and he asks what is wrong and she asks how he knew where she was and he says he got lost trying to find the Paris. He offers his arm and she links arms with him they go shopping together.

Yeo-Joo and Kei go to the restaurant to have beers and the owner comes and she tells them that everybody is busy and he asks what happened between Alex and the girl he likes and he tells them that there is a girl he likes but another guy took her away. Kei asks if it is the boss and he tells them that the boss told him that she gets severe anemia and dizziness and since he studied oriental medicine he helps her. Yeo-Joo spills her beer and Kei drags her outside and asks why she is having feeling for Alex still and she tells him that she didn’t know how he felt. Kei tells her that the guy in front of her is him and that she should concentrate on him. He takes off his couple ring and throws it on the ground and walks away.

Kei goes to Alex’s house and he asks who is the girl that makes him in pain and if it is bunny. Alex asks what is he going to do if it is Yeo-Joo and Kei grabs him shirt and says that he knows full well what she means to him. Alex says it is hard for him too and there is nothing to worry about because Yeo-Joo doesn’t know and he is just a coworker. Kei says he doesn’t want him backing down because of him and that he doesn’t want pity or be afraid of him and tells him to be brave and fight to see who will win. 

The next day Alex comes back to work. Ji-Soo phones Jin and tells him she is leaving and the intern asks for Ji-Soo’s phone number and address. Yeo-Joo pulls Kei aside and tries to give him back the ring and says sorry for last night because she was flustered and that she won’ do it again. Kei tells her she can keep it for now and doesn’t want to keep the relationship vague and when she is ready to give all of her heart to him then she can give it back.

A policeman comes in asking for Yeo-Joo and Alex goes to he police station because she has been accused of sexual harassment by Jeong-Ah. Jeong-Ah comes in and accuses Yeo-Joo of coming for supper and then trying to take off her clothes and that Yeo-Joo ran away when she grabbed her knife and she shows them a scar on her arm. The police are going to take her away when Alex interjects and tells them that Jeong-Ah would have figured out she is a girl if she touched Yeo-Joo’s body. Yeo-Joo shows them her ID and the case is dropped.

As Alex and Yeo-Joo leave Jeong-Ah grabs a pen and goes to stab Yeo-Joo but Alex shields her and gets the pen in his back and he bleeds a little bit.

The cop has Jeong-Ah in a room and Yeo-Joo asks if she can talk to her and she tells her that Alex is okay and he didn’t get that hurt. Jeong-Ah says sorry and that Yeo-Joo was the first person to smile and say her name brightly and she couldn’t stand the thought that Yeo-Joo hated her for being fat and ugly. Yeo-Joo that she could do those things because she did it to her first and that she wants to be her friend.

Yeo-Joo goes to Alex at the hospital and she asks when he knew she was a girl and he says when Kei asked her out and that was when he realized that she is more than just a little brother to him. She asks why he pretended and he did because Kei was as precious to him as her. He apologizes for being cranky because he couldn’t control his feelings and that he is going to let it free and tells her that he likes her.

That was a crazy episode!! Alex and Kei are going to fight over Yeo-Joo!! I am very curious to see who she picks? I wonder if she is going to be with Alex and she might like it but then realize something is missing and goes back to Kei because there is a spark there?? I really do not know how it is going to end up!! In this episode they made Kei slightly needy with putting a ring on her finger so I am happy that he decided to make it a fair fight and not get the girl because Alex wasn’t  trying! What is going on with Ji-Soo I am wondering if the intern is going to become a stalker in the next episode because he asked for her address from the nurse. Also Ji-Soo was ready to leave the hospital and I think that the intern might have confessed his love and she doesn’t know what to do. One thing that made me curious was that the boss said that Alex was in love with someone else? how did she know? it would be weird if Alex would tell her because she might guess it was Yeo-Joo and he wouldn’t want her to know because then she would fire Yeo-Joo. I have had this feeling that the Boss knew from the beginning that Yeo-Joo was a girl  and maybe let her stay because she knew that Yeo-Joo needed this job to become a better person. They have not really gone any further with the gumiho story and the Boss! I wonder if she is really a gumiho??

Nail Shop Paris Episode 8 Summary June 16, 2013

The 8th episode starts with Kei, Yeo-Joo, Jin and Ji-Soo are eating at a restaurant and Ji-Soo figures out that Kei and Yeo-Joo are dating. Kei acts very overprotective and he gets Yeo-Joo to go study.

Alex is drinking alone and the restaurant owner joins him and can tell Alex is depressed he figures out that a girl likes him and he was interested and he missed his chance when another guy asked her out.

At the shop Jin and Alex try to boss Yeo-Joo around to do her jobs but Kei gets them to do it instead.

Some ladies come in and they go to the back. Jin tells her that the woman is Hye-Kyung also known as Pig Mom and that she is like a leader among other married women in this town and that if she hates you, you won’t be able to raise your kid in this town. Jin and Alex talk to them in the back and she tells them she has been very busy but she is going to go camping and she invites them to come to the campground.The Paris staff all agree that they should go camping for their gathering this year. Jin hugs Yeo-Joo in happiness and Kei hits his hand.

At the campground Ji-Soo comes and Yeo-Joo warns her to watch her mouth. Kei and Yeo-Joo go to wash the rice. They joke around and Alex notices.

Yeo-Joo criticizes his washing of the rice and he starts acting more like his usual self and they joke around some more. They see some of the same ladies before from the shop and they see one lady being left out from the group.

Jin and Ji-Soo cooks some meat with the boy and the Lady explains that Hye-Kyung had approached her and asked her if she wanted to have her son Si-Woo join the prestigious study group and she told them that she doesn’t want to force studying on her child. She explains that they started leaving her out and didn’t mind at first but there were so many school events and she wasn’t able to go to all of them and this led to some problems for her son. She tells them that Si-Woo wasn’t an introvert before.

Ji-Soo has to leave because her co-worker got sick all of a sudden. The boss says she is going to go lie down because she is tired Alex becomes concerned and follows after asking if she is dizzy. Kei holds her hand. Alex, Kei, Jin and Yeo-Joo then do sparklers and fireworks together. Alex watches them all play.

Kei is sitting outside and Yeo-Joo joins him and he tells her that she should stay here until everyone falls asleep because he doesn’t want her sleeping with the guys. She argues she already did it once and he says that was then. He pulls her head on his lap and she asks him if there are any good ideas to help Si-Woo’s mom. Kei gets mad that she is thinking about those things on his lap. She tells him he is acting like a kid and he says would a kid do this and gives her a kiss.

The next morning Yeo-Joo gets up and Alex is outside having coffee the others are sleeping and he asks if she wants to go for a walk and they do. As they are walking she trips and sprains her ankle. Alex gives her a piggyback ride to the camper. Kei gets mad at her for going off alone and Alex says she will be fine if she puts a heat pack on it.

They are back from camping and are at the shop Yeo-Joo goes to Kei and he tells her that he is not mad at her but he was mad seeing her with Alex. She leans her head against his back and he tells her that she is mean because she never says that she likes him. I says that he should bear with it because he likes her more.

In her story she goes to see Alex and she explains to him that 500 years ago when gumihos came to earth they got married with humans who really loved them and that is how a mutation like her was born neither human or gumiho and she shows him her nail claws and breaks some glass behind him. She tells him that the mutation meets 2 kinds of people by destiny hunters who kill gumihos and humans that make gumihos human and she asks him which one he is and he says he doesn’t know but no no matter what he wants to love her and make her happy. They are sitting and he gives her a ring and calls her Salsa and tells her that even if their fate isn’t strong enough to stop her from being gumiho forever he will never leave her. 

She freaks out and asks how he knew that she has to live as gumiho forever if she ends up being with a hunter and he says he knew it from a nursery rhyme. Kei comes in and pulls out his gun on Alex and grabs Yeo-Joo to his side and he asks Yeo-Joo to decide who she trusts and she isn’t able to say. Yeo-Joo in real life is frustrated with the novel.

The next morning Yeo-Joo comes in and Jin is posting pictures of their camping trip on their website. Alex comes in and has cookies from Si-Woo’s mother. Yeo-Joo asks if his mom is a website designer and she suggests that she make a website for the school and that they will accept her then. They tell this idea to Si-Woo’s mom  and she says in order to do this she would need pictures from her class and Yeo-Joo agrees to go take pictures. She goes to the school and takes picture Kei at one point helps her take pictures and they do it together. 

Later at the shop Si-Woo’s mom comes and says it was a great idea and that it has worked out for her. She wants to treat Yeo-Joo but Alex suggests that she be her first customer and she agrees. She says she is doing a black and white skeleton nail design and it turns out great. Later Yeo-Joo is at the shop studying and Alex sees her he is going to bring her a drink but Kei sits down and so he can’t. Kei tells her that she is pretty good and teases about not passing because her exam is tomorrow. She says that isn’t going to happen because of her luck charm and pulls out the stuffed bunny and he agrees and he tells her to ask him for help if she needs it and he offers to take her to the exam before he leaves.

The next day Kei had gotten lost and Yeo-Joo is talking to him and he doesn’t know where he is but she is already at the place for the exam and goes in. At the restaurant the owner, Alex, and Jin are there and they are celebrating that she has passed the written exam. Jin tells her to ask Alex about his relationship with the boss and she says she can’t do it. Jin then leaves her with Alex alone and she tells him that the skill test is in 1 month. He gets a call and has to leave she asks if it is the boss but he doesn’t answer and he leaves. Yeo-Joo leaves the restaurant and Kei has come he gives her a necklace because it is a bribe to pass the skill test. She then gives him a hug.

Si-Woo’s mom picks up Si-Woo and she tries saying hello to other moms and they ignore her. She tries to talk to Hye-Kyung and grabs her arm but gets slapped saying that it was her fault for what happened to Ye-Ji.

Yeo-Joo is with Jin and she tells him about Alex meeting the boss again and she tells him not to talk about Alex in front of her because she doesn’t want to have more feelings for him because it is not fair to Kei. They see Si-Woo walking and he tells them he doesn’t want to go to school anymore and wants to go home. They take him home and their is garbage in front of her door. The neighbor lady talks to them and says that Si-Woo’s mom is acting weird lately and tells her that the other day Si-Woo didn’t come home until late because he is being bullied and got locked in the storage closet.

At the shop they tell this problem with the others and and they look at the website and found out that Ye-Ji’s picture on the site was changed and to make her look grown up and the site was taken down.

They bring Hye-Kyung to the shop and she tells them that she won’t forgive Si-Woo’s mom because of this and that the people that did it were in middle school. Alex tells her that Si-Woo is being bullied because of this and she says because they don’t like the mother they won’t like him.

Si-Woo’s mom goes and finds the boy that did it to Ye-Ji’s picture and approaches him and grabs him and she pulls out some object out either pepper spray or something that could harm him. The boss grabs it out of her hands and tells the boy to quickly leave.

The rest of the staff bring in Si-Woo to the hospital where his mom is sleeping. Si-Woo’s dad comes and he tells them that a few days ago she had told him that they were adjusting to the neighborhood but now he wants them to come back with him and that he doesn’t want them living in that neighborhood. Yeo-Joo was in the room with Si-Woo’s mom holding her hand and starts to cry.

Back at the shop Yeo-Joo is crying by herself and Alex sits down with her and he says that it wasn’t her fault and she says she knows. He asks her why she is crying and she says that Si-Woo’s moms nails were cracked and that she was having such a hard time that her nails broke and cracked. He tells her that even when they help people they don’t always get a happy ending. She says she can’t stop thinking about Si-Woo’s mom and can’t stop crying. He holds her hand and kisses her forehead and asks if she can stop thinking about her. Kei has come up the stairs and sees this happen. She leans in and gives Alex a kiss on his lips.

OH MY!!  what a crazy episode!! Oh the drama that comes with a love triangle!! I guess it is logical that Yeo-Joo first saw Alex and made him the hero in her story so on her first instincts she would end up with Alex but I don’t want Kei to get hurt because of it which it seems like that is where it is going. Kei knows that he likes her more than she does which makes it so sad when he is trying so hard and yet she is unable to give him her full attention. It almost seems like she is using him because she is too scared to go after Alex but I mean won’t Alex and her both realize they like each other after she kissed him. That was really dumb of her because she doesn’t know that Alex knows that she is a girl. In her mind she thinks Alex thinks that she kissed him as a boy!!! I am not totally against Alex for Yeo-Joo because he is so comforting and nurturing but I guess he is the nice guy and Kei is the mean one so like most dramas the nice guy doesn’t finish last??
I loved that Kei got lost again!! so cute!!

One thing that bothered me was the mother of Si-Woo should have just transferred her son to a different school! I mean I am sure there is more than 1 school around? The mother that controlled everything that was a little strange that she had that much power!! to even make the other kids bully him!! that was a bit crazy! so funny when Yeo-Joo goes to kiss Alex and Alex just stares ahead looking like a robot!! why does the person getting kissed always have to look so emotionless!! it looks very weird!!

Nail Shop Paris Episode 7 Summary June 9, 2013

The seventh episode starts with Yeo-Joo and Kei and he has just confessed his love for her. She pushes him away and tells him his joke has gone too far and she thinks he is doing it because he found out she was a girl. He tells her that was not the reason and that he likes her and gets frustrated. She says sorry and says she has to go. Alex is waiting outside and he now knows that Yeo-Joo is a girl too.

The next day Yeo-Joo is mopping and Jin and Kei comes in and she makes an excuse to get away from Kei. Jin asks Kei if they fought again and Kei asks Jin how to apologize to a girl. Yeo-Joo gets called to the office and the boss and Alex are there and she gives her an application to take the nail exam and she agrees to take it. Alex follows her out and wants to say something but awkwardly tells her to study hard instead. An older woman comes into the shop and pulls a color off the wall and says she wants it, Alex comes and takes her to the back. Alex notices a cell phone around her neck and he takes it and gives it to Yeo-Joo to phone while he gives her a manicure. Alex notices there is something wrong with her nails.

An older man comes in and says he was called they take him to the woman in the back. Alex takes the older man outside and to talk and Alex tells him that she looks unhealthy. The older man tells him that she was fine a couple of days ago but that she has been forgetful and that she may have Alzheimer’s disease. He asks him that if she comes again to phone him because all the speed dial numbers are set for his number.

At the end of the day Jin and Yeo-Joo meet Alex and Kei leaving and Alex suggests getting some beer and Yeo-Joo says she can’t because she has to study for her exams and she leaves. At home Ji-Soo asks her if something happened between her and Alex and guesses that he said something mean. Yeo-Joo then works on her novel. In the story Yeo-Joo and the owner of the restaurant have Kei tied up and he tells them that Alex is the captain of the hunters who kill all of the gumiho’s in the world. Yeo-Joo doesn’t believe him and he tells her that is why the sticker was dropped in the parking lot for her to find. He tells them that he is hired by the hunters to kill gumiho but that doesn’t make him a hunter and he tells them that she is in danger and has been following her for days and that is why he wants to help her. He tells her that the man approached her because he wants to kill more gumiho and that it was not a coincidence her best friend died. He also tells her that the fight won’t be over unless either her or Alex dies. Ji-Soo interrupts and Yeo-Joo won’t give her any spoilers in he novel.

The next day Kei is waiting outside the shop for Yeo-Joo, she tries to walk past but he stops her and asks why she is avoiding him and says she hasn’t and he tells her that he avoids eye contact and is never alone with her. Jin comes and Kei tells her that they are going to talk later and leaves. Jin asks what happened and she just nods her head. Kei scolds  Yeo-Joo for not filling the decoration boxes. The same man comes in asking if Soon-Young come and he tells them that she disappeared again when he was busy. Jin and Yeo-Joo go help search the area with her picture and no one has seen her.

 

They go back to the shop and Alex tells the man that Mrs. Oh was not able to draw a pentagon as a test and that he thinks that she probably has cerebral infarction and Yeo-Joo went to phone 911. Yeo-Joo gets off the phone and says that she is there.  They go to see Soon-Young in the hospital and the doctor tells them that she probably has cerebral infarction and that they can do a surgery. The man tells them that he is not actually family and a group of people come running calling mom. The son asks why the man is there and threatens that if he does anything to his mother he will not let it slide. The man just apologizes.

  

The man comes to the shop and everyone is there and he tells them he met her at a health department and heard his departed wife’s name Mrs. Oh Soon-Young and he felt bad for not being a nice husband to his departed wife and she acts and looks like his departed wife, so that is why he wants to do everything for her that he couldn’t do for his departed wife. They wanted to marry and her children did not want this and thought that he was just after her money and told her that they don’t approve and won’t see her if she does it. He tells him the promise he made that on her birthday they would go to this place and he takes out a picture that she had cut out. Everyone agrees that they would help make it happen.

 

After, as they are getting ready to leave Kei asks Yeo-Joo to talk and that he will be waiting at the bar. Yeo-Joo goes to meet him and he tells her that he is sorry he yelled at her today and about that night but he is not going to take back what he had said about him liking her because it is true. She tells him that she likes Alex and that she is sorry and if he is uncomfortable around her she will quit nonsense. Kei disagrees and says that he will quit Paris because he caused everything.

The man comes back to see Alex and he asks him if he will teach him nail art for Soon-Young. Alex suggests they do nail extensions and paint them here and he can glue them on for her.

The next day Alex notices Kei is late and Jin hands him a note from Kei that says he is resigning for personal reasons. They find that Kei’s locker is empty and that he is not picking up the phone. Yeo-Joo opens her locker and finds a note saying good luck on the exam tomorrow from Kei and a bunny toy for her phone.

 

 

Kei is walking with a duffel bag and he gets a text from Yeo-Joo asking where he is and he ignores it. Jin asks Yeo-Joo if Kei found out she was a girl and wonders if he wanted her to quit, Yeo-Joo doesn’t answer Jin. Jin tells her that Kei cared a lot about her and even though he understands how she feels that she should care about how others are feeling.

The man is learning how to glue with Alex and Alex asks if it has hard to have the relationship even though everyone opposed and he tells Alex that if he ends the relationship just because it is hard, that’s not love and a selfish thought. That real love is receiving.

 

As the man leaves he sees Yeo-Joo sitting outside and realizes that she is drunk. She is upset and starts crying and Alex hugs her and apologizes for not recognizing her feelings and for calling her a younger brother. She then says for Kei not to go.

 

The next day they have planned to take Mrs. Oh out of the hospital today. Alex and Yeo-Joo dress up as doctors and wheel Mrs. Oh out of the room when the daughter leaves. As they are leaving with Mrs. Oh Yeo-Joo realizes that she forgot the nail glue and Mrs. Oh pulls some out of the pocket and says the guy with the mean face brought it because he thought she would forget.

 

 They drive the couple to the light display place she had always wanted to go and he wheels her around. Jin tells Yeo-Joo that he thinks he knows where Kei is and after that Yeo-Joo starts running. In the display the man pulls out the decorated nails and then Mrs. Oh becomes unconscious.

 

They get her back to the hospital and her children come in again threatening the old man. Mrs. Oh tells them to stop and the man goes to her and holds her hand and he starts crying.

 

He is sitting by her bedside alone and he pulls out the nails again and shows them to her and he puts them on her. After he finishes the first hand she has gone to sleep and he puts them on the next hand while crying.
 

Later on, he goes to the Paris and talks with Jin, Alex, and the Boss and he tells them that she passed away in her sleep. He thanks them for what they did for him and shakes each of their hands and leaves. Jin wonders if Yeo-Joo found Kei and that she should phone. He asks Alex why did he want him to tell Yeo-Joo about where he was because he knew that he always go to the place.

 

Kei is outside somewhere and is drawing Yeo-Joo’s face, Yeo-Joo asks if that is supposed to be her. She tells him that he shouldn’t have just left and asks if he really does like her. As she looks at the painting she tells him that she missed him, he asks her what she said and she repeats it and tells him not to go anywhere and he hugs her.

 

 

 

They are sitting on a bench and he asks her if she came all this way on the train for him and she says she was worried sick something bad had happened to him. He asks her if he can do that thing and goes in for a kiss she tells him he can’t do that all of a sudden. He then grabs her shoulders and says to tell him if she doesn’t want it but later and goes in for a longer kiss.

 

 

OH MY!! SOOO CUTE!! I think this has been my most favorite episode so far!! Kei’s face when she comes and when he wants to kiss her! It was just adorable!! I think it has been very fulfilling to see Kei change so much because of love. It just feels so good to see that change in a person. At the beginning of the series they really have me fooled I really did not think Kei and Yeo-Joo would end up together because he was pretty mean and seemed like he would just become this mean character throughout the series! but they really made his personality more interesting to fit the lead role. I really did not expect Yeo-Joo to come around that quickly for Kei and they even kissed twice already. I have to say I enjoyed the first kiss it seemed so innocent, cute, and almost real. The old couple well they were also touching and it made me sad to see her die in the end but I really liked them as a couple and they way he wanted to care for her!
One thing that bothered me was when Alex says he thought that the woman had this problem but didn’t tell the man? why didn’t he tell him? that seems a bit odd?
Alex finding out about Yeo-Joo I would think that he would have been more bothered by this that she was lying. Kei didn’t seem bothered much either but wasn’t it supposed to be only men at the shop? are they going to bend the rules for her?? Kei was going to quit instead of her? that is just weird he is an accomplished nail artist and she hasn’t even passed the exam and she is a girl so she should probably have been the one to quit. I wonder now if the feelings have been awakened in Alex because he knows that she is a girl now? because he seemed a bit bothered that Yeo-Joo was so concerned about Kei and he made Jin tell her where he was, like he wanted to put some distance from her. I have really enjoyed this episode and can’t wait for the next one. I can’t quite picture them as a couple yet and wonder how they are going to make it work in the next one!!

Nailshop Paris Episode 6 Summary June 4, 2013

The 6th episode starts with Alex going remembering when he was a doctor and another doctor is mad at him for treating a patient without the permission from the other doctor. The doctor fires Alex.

Alex is drinking at a bar and the boss comes in and asks him to come help her heal people that can’t be helped in the hospital. She was a former patient of Alex’s and he saw that she had anemia by looking at her nail.

In the present Alex is sitting with the boss as she sleeps in her bed. He asks her if she is dizzy and nauseous and she sends him home.

Yeo-Joo is sulking in her bed and Ji-Soo tries to get her to go to work. Ji-Soo phones Jin and tells him that Yeo-Joo isn’t going to go to work today but she doesn’t know why. Alex overhears and asks if she is sick and Jin just nods his head.

Yeo-Joo then decides that she is going to work on her novel. Yeo-Joo and Ji-Soo as gumihoo’s go to the restaurant and the owner has been hurt by the hunters.

Ji-Soo goes after she hears a shot she kills 2 hunters but she gets shot by one. Yeo-Joo comes to her side and Ji-Soo tells her to never trust a human.

Ji-Soo dies and Yeo-Joo goes to the Kei and he tells her to watch out for the man in the nail shop and the story is interrupted by Alex phoning her and asking if she is going to go to the nail class today and she tells him that she will.

A lady comes into the shop and Jin notices that she didn’t come with her friend and she tells them he is her boyfriend Hee-Cheol and she asks that they do not tell her friend Joon-Young that she came here with her boyfriend.

After nail class Jin is waiting and he tells her that Alex told him to meet her because he thought something was worrying her. They eat and Jin tells her he is thinking of breaking up with Ji-Soo because girls want to talk to him and he cannot say no. Ji-Soo gets mad at him for having a conversation with a girl at the bar. Yeo-Joo gets mad at him because he isn’t talking about her problems she tells him that she saw Alex and the boss go into the apartment together and then waited for Alex to come out 3 hours later. She also tells him that in Alex’s wallet there was a picture of him and the boss. She tells him that she is going to get over Alex.

At work Jin asks Kei if the boss and Alex are really in a relationship but Kei has not heard and then Kei asks if that is why Yeo-Joo is so depressed. Jin laughs it off and says that he wouldn’t care about something like that. Joon-Young comes through the doors with the girl that came in earlier who is Yeon-Hee and asks who she came in with earlier and if it was the boyfriend. They separate the girls and the girl with the boyfriend Yeon-Hee explains to Alex and Jin that they are roommates and have been for a long time and that after she started dating Hee-Cheol all she does is gossip about him. She tells them that she even threw away her ring that Hee-Cheol gave her. Joon-Young is talking with Kei and Yeo-Joo and she tells them that she is doing it for her and Kei tells her that it just sounds like she is jealous. Kei asks what is the problem that he thinks Hee-Cheol’s personality is good and has good manners. Joon-Young says that she hates everything about Hee-Cheol.

The staff are at the restaurant and the boss says that she thinks the friend has a problem and she asks Kei what he thinks and he says he thinks it is one-sided love and Alex says that it probably hurts her more since she saw the man fall in love with somebody she knows. Jin says that she said she hated everything about him and Kei says that 2 negatives makes a positive. They decide they need to see them interact before they can know it that is the problem. They tell Yeon-Hee that they are going to try a double date and Kei is the one going with them.

Jin goes to meet Ji-Soo and tell her they need to talk. They go to a park and he tells her that he thinks they should break up because he admitted his mistake and doesn’t want to fight over little things and that he doesn’t want to cling to somebody who hates him and he starts walking away thinking that he has played her and she tells him that she agrees and starts crying and sends him away. A bunch of punks come up to them and want to play, they punch Jin and grab Ji-Hoo she knocks them all out.

Hee-Cheol, Joon-Young, Kei, Yeon-Hee are all on the date.  Kei tries to talk to Joon-Young and Jin told him a girl with a crush remember everything about the person and Joon-Young doesn’t really tell him anything about Hee-Cheol. Jin also tells him that a girl will keep everything that the guy gives to her and cherishes it so Kei says they should get a souvenir for the girls. Hee-Cheol puts a headband on her and she takes it off and walks away.

Yeo-Joo is practicing her nail art when Alex comes in and he forgot to bring his book home. He helps her with work and takes her out to eat. When they are done he asks her if she is mad at him and she says no. She asks him if he has a girlfriend and he says he doesn’t. He notices her shoe is untied so he ties it for her. She asks him why he is so nice to her and he says because she is like a younger brother to him. He goes to pat her head and she pushes his hand away and says she needs to go back to the salon. She runs away to the bus stop and starts crying and phones Ji-Soo and tells her that Alex doesn’t have any special feelings for her and that it is breaking her heart.

On the date Kei remember that Jin told him that a girl with a crush like skinship from the crush and that being touched would make them go crazy. Kei takes Yeon-Hee on the ride and Joon-Young goes with Hee-Cheol. Kei tells Hee-Cheol to put his arm around Joon-Young because she was scared and she pushes him off of her. After the ride Joon-Young complains about Hee-Cheol touching her on the ride Kei says that he was just helping her because she was scared. Kei asks if she likes Hee-Cheol and she gets mad and walks away. She had dropped her phone and Kei picked it up and found pictures taken of Yeon-Hee sleeping and everyone comes to the realization that she had a crush on Yeon-Hee.

Joon-Young goes with Kei to Paris because she doesn’t want to go home because Yeon-Hee knows the truth. Yeo-Joo is there practicing and Joon-Youngand Kei go to the back and he sets up a bed for her and she tells him that they knew each other from school and that she was surprised when a pretty and popular girl wanted to be her friend and she then hid her feelings so she could keep staying close to her.

The next day Alex wants to talk to Yeo-Joo but Jin interrupts. Alex talks to Kei and says he did a color personality test on Joon-Young and that it showed she was half dead and needs help desperately and decide to wait to see.

Joon-Young goes back to her place and Yeon-Hee is waiting for her and they talk about why Joon-Young was acting and she tells her that she doesn’t want to lose Joon-Young and invites her to her engagement party. Joon-Young decides to move out instead of Yeon-Hee.

Yeon-Hee goes to Paris and she talks to Alex and Kei about Joon-Young and invites them all to her engagement party.

At the engagement party Jin, Kei, Alex, and Yeo-Joo are all there and Hee-Cheol puts a ring on Yeon-Hee finger and says his vow and she can’t do it because she is upset about leaving Joon-Young alone and she leaves the room.

As she is leaving Joon-Young comes in with flowers and says sorry she is late and they hug and the staff comes out to and sees them.

At the shop Alex and Kei are doing Joon-Young’s and Yeon-Hee’s nails and they do a keep the faith manicure for their eternal friendship. After they are done Hee-Cheol comes and Joon-Young had called them to take them out for lunch and Yeon-Hee is surprised. She says she didn’t want to be the reason that she lost a great guy.

Joon-Young pulls Kei aside and tells asks him if he likes Yeo-Joo and he asks how she knew and she says she could see it from far away. She wants him to release the wild cat of love so it doesn’t scratch up his heart. That after he tells her that he will know what to do next.

Yeo-Joo is practicing nail art and Jin wants her to go out and she doesn’t want to he calls her a girl and she yells at him no to. Kei is watching from above and when Jin leaves he comes out. Yeo-Joo is shocked and Kei asks her if she is a girl and she says she will quit tomorrow if he wants her to.

He asks who told her to quit he then pulls her into a hug and tells her that he doesn’t want to have a secret crush anymore and would have told her this even when she was a boy, and that he doesn’t care if she has a crush on Alex or not.

Wow what an exciting ending!! I cannot wait for the next episode!! I have come to like the idea of Kei and Yeo-Joo together!! I think it would be soo good!! I have to say this was one weird episode a girl liking her best friend and then in the end they go back to being friends. It is kinda weird at the engagement party inviting the staff of her nail salon and not for example family and friends!!?? and then she runs out and what she is just going to go back to being friends and not deal with her fiancee?? I don’t know this was just a bad concept the whole way through!! not sure I really love the side stories very much!! I loved how Yeo-Joo finally admits that she has feelings for Alex and then is heartbroken when she knows she can’t really expect anything from him because of the situation. She seemed more honest and real and then Kei finally admits that he has feelings for Yeo-Joo and becomes like her more honest. So funny when Jin thought he could trick Ji-Soo by wanting to break up and then she beats up the guys which makes him love her even more!! I am soo happy that Kei finds out she is a girl and can finally understand why he is having feelings for her. I do not think that she will be able to reciprocate his feeling at first obviously because she thinks he doesn’t even like her. I have to say I love the softening of Kei and how more lovable he has gotten in the more recent episodes!!

Nail Shop Paris Episode 5 Summary May 26, 2013

The fifth episode starts with Yeo-Joo meeting Jin locking up and she tells him that the doctor said Alex will still in the hospital for a couple of days. Kei goes to the restaurant and talks with the owner and wonders if Kei has a girlfriend. Yeo-Joo is out with Jin and Ji-Soo at a restaurant when a man is yelling at a lady for money and disrupts the whole restaurant.

The next day the boss gives Yeo-Joo a card and tells her that Alex requested nail classes for her and that it is set up for her. Kei comes in and they tell him that his new haircut looks good and he ignores Yeo-Joo. Yeo-Joo goes to her nail class and the girl from the restaurant sits next to her. They do each others nails and Yeo-Joo notices some red lines onJeon Mi Ae (from the restaurant) nails.

Yeo-Joo goes to visit Alex in the hospital and she tells him that the girl in her class has red lines on her nails but she doesn’t seem like a person who is depressed because she is smiling all the time. He tells her that maybe because she has to smile everyday for their job it becomes a habit and even if they want to cry or be angry they just smile like a robot. He compliments Yeo-Joo and tells her to help the lady if she can. At home Yeo-Joo is studyiing and Ji-Soo asks if she is not writing anymore and tells her that her fans are waiting for her. Yeo-Joo then starts writing she is with Alex and he files her nails and compliments her. He puts some nail art on her finger and one on his finger and calls it couple nail art.

Ji-Soo asks her if she love that man and that he can make her become human but he might be the hunter and tells her that it could put other gumihos at risk. They decide to leave and she leaves him a note saying I’m sorry and goodbye.

At the shop Kei yells at her for being clumsy and creates a scene with customers around. Jin tries to cheer her up and Kei wonders what is wrong with him. At nail class she sees the man taking money from Mi-Ae and later Yeo-Joo asks if the man extorted money from her and she acknowledges it. Yeo-Joo scolds her for smiling over something bad and tells her that she will help her to stop him. The two of them meet the man in a restaurant and Yeo-Joo tells him not to meet Mi-Ae anymore and throws threats at her. The man tries to grab Yeo-Joo and a staff stops him she tells him that if he bothers Mi-Ae one more time she will not let it go and she walks out with Mi-Ae. Later Jin is over and she tells him what she did and he tells her about the fanfic about the shop and that they wrote that she and Jin are dating and that Kei has a crush on her. She tells him that it is not possible because Kei always bullies her and Ji-Soo says that if somebody likes you they want to bully you so they can get your attention.

Kei is at the shop and is angry after reading the shops fanfics and Kei asks Jin if the  way he treated Yeo-Joo was weird and Jin agrees and says it was like he had feelings for Yeo-Joo. Kei asks where Yeo-Joo is and Jin says at the hospital and Kei huffs and walks away. Jin wonders what is wrong with him and then wonders if Kei really does have feelings for Yeo-Joo.

Yeo-Joo goes to the hospital and the boss is taking Alex for a check up so Yeo-Joo waits in the room. She opens the bosses wallet and finds a picture of her and Alex. Back at the shop she asks Jin what the relationship is between Alex and the Boss. Jin tells her that when Alex quit his job and was wandering the Boss led him to become a nail artist and so she was kinda like his saviour. Jin leaves and meets Kei outside Kei lies and says he left something there and the man that extorted the money from Mi-Ae asks for Yeo-Joo and Kei waits in the shop while she talks to the man. Kei looks for them but they are gone and he calls her cell but she left it at the shop. The man has dragged Yeo-Joo out to get into a fight with her because of what she said to him before. Other guys surround her she hits him and runs away and she hides in a garbage can. She thinks they are gone and he comes behind and grabs her. Kei has gone to visit Alex and he asks to check his hand to see if he is crazy. Kei gets a call from Jin asking if he knows where Yeo-Joo is because he can’t get ahold of him on the phone and they asks if he knew where he was going and realized that he was with that man. Kei finds a young guy and asks if he knows where the guy with a scar on his face is.

 The men have her surrounded and they think Yeo-Joo looks like a girl so they think they should check. Kei comes and hits his shoe at them and acts all tough. They try to beat him up but he knocks them all down and the scar face man cuts his arm with a knife. Yeo-Joo leaves with him and she scolds her for not thinking and following him without knowing how to fight and not even bringing her phone. She starts crying and saying she didn’t have time for that. Alex, Ji-Soo and Jin come running out the shop and Alex hugs her and Kei tells her that if it happens one more time he isn’t going to worry about it. Kei goes inside and sits down and sees the blood on his hand and is angry because she made him so worried.

Alex finds Mi-Ae and he tells her what happened and she has no reaction and she has some pain in her head. Alex asks Kei if he could find Hyung-Shik the scarface man again because he might know what problem she has.  Alex says that he thinks she has alexithymia where you can’t feel or express your emotions and that is could lead to premature dementia at the worst but he thinks it is from a traumatic event that caused her to block her old emotions.

Alex and Kei go to see Hyung-Shik and he tells them that when they were in high school together she was always depressed and bullied because of this. He figured out that she was raped by her stepfather and she was going to kill herself but he saved her and since then she has never been the same and acts like a robot. Alex figures out that he has been watching her because he has feelings for her. He tells them that he followed her to get money from her because she owed him her life. As they leave Hyung-Shik asks them to help her because if they let her go she might try to kill herself again.

The staff are gathered at the restaurant and the boss decides that Yeo-Joo should be the one to help Mi-Ae.  As they leave Yeo-Joo catches up with Kei and she tells him thank you for that day and asks if his arm is okay and he acts rough. She asks him if he thinks that she can help Mi-Ae and he tells her that there is no right answer in the world but to pick anything and make that your answer and it then becomes the answer.

Yeo-Joo goes to nail class and she asks Mi-Ae on a date. They go on a date as they are walking Yeo-Joo grabs Mi-Ae’s purse and throws it in the bushes to make her angry. Mi-Ae goes to get it and is not mad. Yeo-Joo apologizes and says that she wanted to see the real Mi-Ae and she explains that Alex thinks she is sick because she can’t feel any emotions.

Yeo-Joo takes Mi-Ae after hours to the Shop and they are going to practice glue-on nails. Alex, Jin, and Kei are in the back watching her. Yeo-Joo takes Mi-Ae’s hand and gives her a rub and explains that the shop is Nail Shop Paris because of the myth of Paris and it is the goal to comfort and cure customer’s wounds. She says that Mi-Ae is her customer and she is going to give it a shot. She tells her that she has no mother and lived in the countryside so people bullied her and as she got older she never left home and got a job she could do alone and had only 1 friend her roommate. She thought she was happy but she wasn’t and that because of other people she felt all kinds of emotions and without these emotions she wasn’t living. She decided not to let Mi-Ae’s life to be her old life.

She tells her that she has heard her past and that she understands why she closed her mind but she want to teach how it is to have those emotions and that like now she is never going to let her go. Mi-Ae is crying and is surprised and asks what is wrong with her. Alex and the others come in and Alex tells her that her body and heart can feel even if her brain doesn’t. Mi-Ae asks Yeo-Joo for help and what she should do next and they all smile.

Jin, Kei, Yeo-Joo, and Alex are at the restaurant and she tells them that Mi-Ae went to see a doctor with her and got her admitted for treatment and the doctor said it won’t be easy to cure but since she has the will she will be fine. Alex gets a call and leaves right away, they tease him about it being a girlfriend. Yeo-Joo is sad after he leaves and Kei can tell and he then leaves too. Jin then makes Yeo-Joo go a club together with Ji-Soo. Yeo-Joo is bored and she leaves she sees Alex stop his car and help the boss out of the car and they walk together into a building.

This was an interesting episode we were able to learn more about Yeo-Joo and who she was in her past. Ji-Soo told us that Yeo-Joo was a lot more selfish and in this episode we learn why. It is very clear that Kei has romantic feelings for Yeo-Joo but I am surprised he is not questioning or even showed as to be thinking about why Yeo-Joo had been kissing Alex. Jin and Ji-Soo are a cute couple and I think that they go well together and it is cute to see Yeo-Joo get exasperated over them. I found funny was when the Hyung-Shik was talking about Mi-Ae and he was bullying her because he was worried about her and how that was the exact situation that Kei was in with Yeo-Joo. I wanted Alex to read Kei’s fingernails to see if he could tell something!! Yeo-Joo likes Alex but he doesn’t seem to be the main focus in the story Kei gets more scenes! and Alex’s personality is not very dynamic. So I wonder if Yeo-Joo is supposed to end up with Kei?? I am not sure?

Some things that bothered me was Mi-Ae didn’t really act like a robot to me? she smiled a bit, but it did not seem like it was excessive. It just seemed like she was a little depressed maybe and smiled to cover it up? The whole story of Mi-Ae just seemed a little bizarre to me?

My guess that with Alex and the boss is that the boss is sick and since Alex has some medical knowledge he personally helps her with it.
