In the second episode of High School Love On Seul-Bi is going in front of a truck becomes she wants to be an angel again and Hyun-Woo saves her. He takes her back to his house. Sung-Yeol is with his stepmother and drops his cup and it breaks she tells him to clean it up and she pushes her down and she cuts her hand on the glass. In the morning Hyun-Woo has decided to transfer schools and Seul-Bi is wearing his old uniform that he threw away. Grandma gives them money for him to buy a new uniform and for her to get some new clothes. At the store when he buys his uniform she also chooses a school uniform.

Picture 1

Sung-Yeol is celebrating his birthday with his dad and stepmom and as they are leaving a guy steals his stepmom’s bag. His dad who is a police officer runs after him and Hyun-Woo and Seul-Bi are walking by and she starts chasing him as well. Hyun-Woo finds him and they fight for awhile when the guy grabs a large piece of wood and Seul-Bi uses her power to get it out of his hands.

Picture 2

The dad catches up and puts him in handcuffs, Sung-Yeol had also chased after and catches Seul-Bi as she is fainting. Hyun-Woo gives Seul-Bi a piggyback and he commends her for trying to help.

Picture 3

Seul-Bi gets a visit from her angel friend and he gives her all the documents she needs to live as a human. Grandma is taking some pills and Seul-Bi walks in and she hides them. She asks her if she likes Hyun-Woo and she agrees she does because she doesn’t want to explain that she wants to get to know him to figure out why she turned human.

Picture 4

Hyun-Woo is late for school because Seul-Bi damaged the clock and has to do pushups and run laps because he is late. He is in the same school and class as Hyun-Woo and the class make him sing a song after the introduction. Hyun-Woo sits next to Chun-Shik and the gang from his class who were also late bully Chun-Shik because they have a tradition where whoever sits next to a new student has to do an orientation. Hyun-Woo goes to the bathroom to help Chun-Shik and then Sung-Yeol stops the guys and makes them leave.

Picture 5

Sung-Yeol gets a text from his real mom saying she can’t come for his birthday. Sung-Yeol’s stepmom is teaching and him and Hyun-Woo get kicked out of class for being late. Sung-Yeol starts punching Hyun-Woo and the stepmom comes out and Sung-Yeol asks if his mom has to come and that she is busy and the stepmom slaps him.

Picture 6

Hyun-Woo and Sung-Yeol have to run laps and Sung-Yeol tells him that he can punch him and he does. Seul-Bi is working at the grandmother’s restaurant and answers the question right on the quiz show on tv and a girl from Hyun-Woo’s school test her knowledge with her homework and she gets them right. Grandmother tells Hyun-Woo that she thinks Seul-Bi should go to school and Hyun-Woo doesn’t want her to go to his. The stepmom is happy about her purse being found because she kept some necklace with a lock on it that is special to her.

Picture 7

She tries to give Sung-Yeol a cake and present and he just insults her and she leaves. At school some girl tries to convince Hyun-Woo to join her club and he turns her down. Hyun-Woo while getting ready for swimming overhears the leader of the gang talking on the phone with someone and gets mad at him for hearing it.

Picture 8

Hyun-Woo makes excuse not to swim and has to clean up instead. The leader of the gang takes Hyun-Woo’s clothes and gets them wet in the sink. Hyun-Woo phones the restaurant and tells Seul-Bi to bring him some new clothes. The leader of the gang starts harassing Hyun-Woo while he is cleaning up and knocks him into the water. Hyun-Woo struggles in the water and flashbacks to him as a kid not being able to swim in the water and his mom isn’t watching him. Hyun-Woo struggles and the leader walks out. The episode ends with Hyun-Woo still underwater.

Picture 10

So I was expecting that Hyun-Woo and Sung-Yeol would have recognized each other from before the purse incident but they don’t seem too and I was thinking they disliked each other but Sung-Yeol saved him and even was apologizing for punching him. I feel that Sung-Yeol is really unnecessarily mean to his step-mom, I mean he must really hate her but she doesn’t even seem that mean! especially for a stepmom since they are usually the ones who are more abusive. I mean I get hating her for replacing his mom and her trying to suck up to him all the time but to throw her on the broken glass was a bit much! The stepmom seems to have a lock on her necklace and I am wondering if Hyun-Woo’s is the key to the necklace! I wonder what there connection is? is she his mother? but that doesn’t seem right? I think that Seul-Bi will come and save Hyun-Woo so he doesn’t drown and she will probably use her powers! It also seems like grandmother is ill and she is keeping it from Hyun-Woo! I like her I hope she doesn’t die!! It was so cute when Sung-Yeol asked Hyun-Woo about Seul-Bi!! They would be so cute together!! I am starting to enjoy this drama more and more!! How about everyone else, what do you think about this series so far??

In the first episode of High School Love On Shin Woo-Hyun is at school and it is 2017 and someone drops a book, which he picks up and tries to return unsuccessfully. He sees a girl and her necklace fits into his.Picture 1It goes back to 2014 and Hwang Sung-Yeol is walking across the street when Woo-Hyun is about to hit him with his moped. When a girl that was sitting on the roof stops time and magically pulls Sung-Yeol out of the way

Picture 3Woo-Hyun gives CPR to a man that is dying and the same girl shows up again and pulls him away and explains he dies and that she is an angel. Woo-Hyun runs through her and she says after she met him weird things started happening to her. At school some girls are looking at the video of Woo-Hyun giving CPR and all gushing about how they love him. Jin-Young gets found out she skipped tutor classes to follow him. In the middle of class Jin-Young’s mom comes in and finds Woo-Hyun and accuses him of seducing Jin-Young and that it is going to ruin her life.

Picture 2Woo-Hyun finds Jin-Young on the roof and wants to commit suicide and he tries to stop her. The angel shows up and her book shows the both of them changing of who dies. Woo-Hyun pulls Jin-Young down but he slips and falls and lands on top of the angel and she stops him from hitting the ground but she turns human from this and the book disappears.

Picture 4After the hospital the two leave together and she figures out she has turned human and she sees one of her angel colleagues and talks to him about what happened and Woo-Hyun thinks she is crazy because he can’t see him. He brings her to the police station because she doesn’t know her name or where she lives and she makes up a name Lee Seul Bi.

Picture 5 Jin-Young’s mother comes to the police station with his teacher and she wants to sue him for assisting a suicide and as the assailant of school violence. The teacher came with and brought papers that the students submitted of a school violence declaration of Woo-Hyun. Woo-Hyun tells the teacher that he knows the declarations are a lie.
Picture 6

Woo-Hyun takes Seul-Bi home to his grandmother’s place and restaurant and she learns about eating. Woo-Hyun talks with his friend and his friend wants him to transfer school. His grandma tells her to never mention his mother in front of him again. Woo-Hyun gets a call from Jin-Young and goes to meet her, Seul-Bi follows him. Jin-Young tells him to be her boyfriend and that she will help him and he tells her that he is going to transfer and pretends that Seul-Bi is his girlfriend.

Picture 7 The next morning she practices using chopsticks and her sunbae angel tells her that he will try to help her change back. Sung-Yeol is at home and his new mother tells him to eat but he doesn’t want to and he orders food from Woo-Hyun’s restaurant and delivers to their house. Sung-Yeol does not get along with his new mother and blames her for the divorce of his mother and dad and the new mother is a teacher at his school. Jin-Young’s mother comes back to Woo-Hyun’s place and is suing for 10 million won for Seul-Bi painting her car. She also wants Woo-Hyun to be expelled because he met with her again. His grandmother tells her that Woo-Hyun won’t transfer and that she will pay the bill and throws her out.

Picture 8

Woo-Hyun pulls Seul-Bi out and tells her to stop interfering and he kicks her out and she wanders around. She goes through the garbage and it starts to rain. She ends up at a store and watches Sung-Yeol eating ramen.

Picture 9 When he leaves she calls him a bad man by accident and then tries to stand under his umbrella but he pulls away and leaves. She says he is just like Woo-Hyun and then he comes back and gives her his umbrella. As she is walking with it she decides she wants to go back to being an angel and stands in front of a truck and this is how the 1st episode ends.

Picture 10

I am not sure how I feel about this drama!? Is it going to be good? I really can’t tell from this episode! I mean it seems like it might be a predictable love story but that is not always bad! I have to say that I think Seul-Bi seems pretty funny and it might be interesting to see what predicaments she is going to get herself into! I guess Woo-Hyun and Sung-Yeol have past issues where they hate each other would be my guess. Woo-Hyun also seems to have mother issues and that he doesn’t know where she is. It seems like Seul-Bi’s sunbae may have a crush on her? I seems like a somewhat interesting drama so I guess I will keep watching!

I felt like watching an older drama and so I chose Hotaru no Hikari which is a Japanese drama from 2007. It is based off of a manga of the same title. The plot of the story is a woman Hotaru is a professional businesswoman at work but when she goes home she is a slob. Her boss comes to live with her and discovers the dishelved messy side of her and tries to help her.

I found this drama to be pretty funny and interesting. I could really relate to Hotaru with just wanting to laze around and have a messy house!!  I found this drama to be fun and lighthearted. I didn’t mind the actor playing Hotaru but I found her love interest to not have that much chemistry and found some things to be a little far-fetched.

This series also has a second season called Hotaru Hikari 2 which I found to be not as interesting and would not recommend watching this series if you are not a diehard fan of the first series.

hotaru2

I did have to watch it because I needed to see what happened with the characters and so therefore I am still happy that I did watch it!  I became frustrated with the whole plot it was kinda weird with Hotaru being away from him for 3 years and so they are awkward with each other for so long.Fullscreen capture 2572010 93851 AM

I felt that I was waiting so long for them to even just share a kiss! The second series just seemed to be drawn out and it was more boring. The age difference seems like a big hurdle for them because she seems immature for her age and he seems more mature for his age!

Hotaru no Hikari 2 EP7-035

All in all I would recommend the first season for something fun to watch, but I would just skip the second season if you do not fall in love with the characters.

Doctor Stranger Review July 11, 2014

index index1

This is a review of the Korean Drama Doctor Stranger. First of all the actors in this drama were awesome! Lee Jong-Suk, Park Hae-Jin, Kang-Sora, Bora. First of all this plot can be a very confusing one! Park Hoon and his father get kidnapped by North Korea. Park Hoon becomes a genius heart surgeon and goes back to South Korea and through all of this he is searching for his first love Jae-Hee. A lot happens in the first couple of episodes and it goes fast. There are so many times I am wondering what exactly is happening but realize if I keep watching things will be explained or at least will make some sense. There are a lot of times I thought that it was not very accurate and that it couldn’t happen in real life. But it was very fun to watch and kept me at the edge of my seat. I know I have watched dramas were the logic was a lot worse.

I think what really kept my interest was Park Hoon! He was just so awesome to watch! His character was just sooo fun!! He was just so playful and yet knew what he needed to do! I also respect the way that he was going to do everything he could to find Jae-Hee because it seems like not all men would be able to be that devoted to one person and go as far as he did to find and save her! I know there was a lot of complaints about the lack of chemistry between Hoon and Jae-Hee but I did not mind that much! I mean she had been through a lot of crap so I mean he less expressive personality may come also with her being in a prison camp for many years. I loved Park Hoon’s sense of right and wrong and being able to care about the patient even if it means he will be in trouble or lose something!

img_201405132209597396What I liked about this drama was that it was nonstop exciting and the characters pulled at the heart strings! I did not find myself getting bored at all even halfway through the series which happens alot in other dramas. I liked it also because it was a medical drama which also seems to keep me interested. I liked that they did try to put some comedy in the drama and found that even with the seriousness it was pretty fun. I loved that there was so many elements happening that all made connections in the end. I think what I learned in this drama is that you need to do the right thing no matter what you could get away with that it only leads to being corrupted. Park-Hoon’s clothing was also very interesting and I thought it was very unique. I thought the ending was very fulfilling and was very pleased with how the drama ended.

DrStranger03-00712What I disliked about this drama was how unrealistic some of the things that happened. I found it a bit frustrating when somethings were not explained very well or fast enough for me. I did really find myself disliking anything else in the drama that was just minor. I know a lot of people were frustrated with Jae-Hee’s character and I agree it was a bit strange but it may have been supposed to be like that and I am perfectly fine with that.

ds3Overall I would easily recommend this drama to anyone that loves some action, romance, and medical thrown into their Korean Dramas! I found it was not as typical as some Korean Dramas and found myself really enjoying the series! I mean who doesn’t find a genius doctor attractive!! I have to say I like him even more when he puts on his glasses!!  This drama did not disappoint me at all!!
