October and November 2022 Korean Drama Review

Gaus Electronics

Gaus Electronics is a comedy drama that is based on a webtoon with the same name and the episodes were shorter more like 46 minutes than the regular 60 minute run time. It also only had 12 episodes so it was a shorter drama than most. It is about the team members of Marketing Team 3 of the home appliance department at Gaus Electronics. It stars Lee Sang Sik (Kwak Dong Yeon) who is pretty good at his comedic role and he is a man that a bit dense but very positive and causes problems on the team on a regular basis. It would seem that this team is the underdogs of the company and with their hijinks they deal with love, career and friendship within the office.

I thought this was an interesting drama since not many dramas fully go in the comedy arena the last one was probably the Welcome to Waikiki series. It is a quirky and silly drama that has its own unique charms that make you want to keep watching. The actors were all good at playing their roles and nothing seemed too over the top that it feels cheesy but the story and acting were all good. I didn’t get bored since the drama was shorter.

The one problem is that the drama is too short, I am sure that the webtoon had way more material so I am not sure why they made it so short but I definitely felt like the ending was just too sudden and they were not given enough time.

So if you want a funny drama on the shorter side this is the perfect drama.

Mental Coach Jegal

This drama is about Gil Je Gal (Jung Woo) who is a mental coach after he had his own traumatic experience being a apart of the National Taekwondo team and eventually became permanently banned from returning as an athlete. He returns to the national team as a coach because he wants to help a Cha Ga Eul (Lee Yoo Mi) who is a struggling short-track speed skater and is in a slump.

Okay so I thought this drama would be about counselling others and be somewhat more of an inspirational drama but it really wasn’t what I was expecting. I was really disappointed in how they first of all portrayed the coach for the short-track speed skating, he was really abusive and everybody knew he was and they just kept as the coach. All the things that he did wrong and they would just keep him, it was disturbing that he could keep his job after everything was known by his boss. I also feel like they didn’t really explain enough about the sport in the drama and how much teamwork is needed in the sport. If you want to watch a good drama about speed skating I would recommend To Fly With You which is a Chinese drama. I feel like since I watching that drama I was able to understand the sport in this drama but I think I would have been confused if I hadn’t watched this drama first. The second thing that drove me crazy was the female sports counsellor Park Seung Ha (Park Se Young) everything that she did and thought was just so annoying and wrong. She would always tell Je Gal not to get involved with any of the problems the athletes were having and it was like how could you just sit still when the coaches are abusing the athletes. It was like she should just quit if she is not going to actually help any of the athletes. She also was Je-Gal’s counsellor at one point and she said the most awful and wrong things to him as well. She is really one of the worst characters of this whole drama and am still frustrated by her just thinking of her.

The love line is really just messed up in this drama, the age difference is too much and not to mention it is completely disturbing when a counsellor or coach starts dating their client. It is crossing so many boundaries and this was not what I was expecting when I started watching. You don’t date someone you are counselling, seriously I couldn’t believe that they went there and not to mention she looks like a child even though she may be in her twenties it just was not sending out good ideas with this drama.The reason that he is helping her is because he sees himself in her and even though he realizes this he still decides its okay to be with her. It also started getting pretty boring at the end with the whole politics and trying to catch the bad guys. I also didn’t find it very inspiring or was emotionally attached to any of the characters in this drama.

I don’t really have any positive feedback for this drama, I would avoid this one if you don’t want to be completely frustrated!

Love is For Suckers

This drama is about Goo Yeo Reum (Lee Da Hee) who is a variety tv producer and she is struggling in her love life and her career. She has her best friend who is also her neighbor Park Jae Hoon (Choi Siwon) who is struggling in his career as a doctor and they are comfortable in their friendship. Yeo Reum runs into trouble with her variety show that she is working on and has to recruit Jae Hoon to be on the dating show she is working on.

I thought this was an entertaining rom-com that kept me interested and had lots of characters to keep the story interesting. It was interesting because it was a show within a show type of drama and it felt like it had a different vibe after a couple of episodes. I would never watch those reality type dating shows like the bachelor but it was more interesting to watch it within this drama. We got to see what was happening behind the scenes and I mean its scripted within a drama so we aren’t expecting anything to be real. It was an interesting dynamic and felt fresh and not just a typical Rom-com.

I like Yeo Reum’s character in the show, she is strong and at some point shows that even though everyone thinks she should be married and accept everything to fit the mold of society she doesn’t accept this answer and chooses her personal happiness. She chooses what she thinks is best even if other people around her don’t like her choices. Jae-Hoon I feel like his presence in this drama was overshadowed by Yeo Reum character, he feels more like a sideline character, you get the feeling that she doesn’t really need him and maybe the chemistry is a bit lacking. Normally Si-Won in dramas his character is quite silly and has a strong presence so it felt strange to see him so subdued. He did good but it felt like he wasn’t himself but it was probably more that he had different character than normal for him. I think they also brought up important themes within the show, so it not just fluff but I don’t know if they really gave some of these themes enough time and attention to address them properly. It still surprised me that it went to these serious places at times.

I didn’t really like Chae-Ri who was the other PD for the show, I mean her character is pretty messed up and I guess I feel more sorry for her than anything else. She had family trauma and to deal with it she would just sleep with people as a one-night stand. This is super unhealthy and destructive behavior and they really should have shown her going to get help.

Overall this was an interesting and great rom-com with some serious themes! I would recommend watching this drama!

Seasons of Blossom

This drama is based on a webtoon with the same name and is a short drama as it is a web drama so the episodes are shorter than a normal dram but there is still 16 episodes. This drama is about a group of students that are currently going to Seoyeon High School and it focuses on Yoon Bo Mi (Kang Hye Won) who is a popular student and wants to protect her friends even if it means not allowing herself to be happy. It also stars Lee Jae Min (Kim Min Kyu) who is dealing with a lot of emotional pain from past events. It also goes into the past with Han So Mang (So Ju Yeon) who is a student teacher at Seoyeon High School as she remembers her painful past when she was a student and has to come to terms with the suicide of her boyfriend at the time.

So this is a very sad drama as you know the suicide is looming in the story the whole time and it is devastating to think about it when you watch the past. I knew this because I read the webtoon but it is still so sad when watching this drama. So if these themes are triggering for you I would not watch this drama as it deals with a lot grief and sadness. I would be careful watching this drama in general if you can’t handle these sad themes. The final episode was really the most sad and really it felt painful.

In the present the high school story is much cuter and not so dark and thought everyone did a great job in acting and it was surprising light-hearted even though there is still so much sadness in this drama. Also the story felt a little different than the webtoon because they focused more on So Mang and she was never a student teacher. Even though they changed some details it still felt like they did a good job and was very authentic to the webtoon. The one thing is that the webtoon is much longer and therefore the drama feels unfinished compared to the webtoon.

This drama is going to break your heart but was still enjoyable to watch!

Shadow Beauty

This is another web drama that is based on a webtoon with the same name but I haven’t read the webtoon. It stars Koo Ae Jin (Shim Dal Gi) who is not considered beautiful and feels ugly and is being bullied at school. She has developed a secret world where she utilizes makeup and photo editing to run a popular social media account called Genie. She keeps this secret to herself but one day she gets a message that someone is aware of who she is and that they have a untouched photo of her.

This was a very intriguing and addicting drama as you want to solve the mystery and it really sucked me in and wanted me to keep watching. It has a strange vibe with all the girl wearing the same type of style and looks like bad wigs but I am not totally sure. The story does get somewhat weak after a while but it still was interesting to watch. I think part of the problem since it is a webdrama they had to rush the story and didn’t give the same backstory time with the characters and developing the story in the same way a webtoon is able to because they have time. It was an easy watch and was pretty entertaining.

I mean it was still not very convincing that Ae Jin is ugly but at least they didn’t just give her glasses! Honestly I also didn’t really get her being and becoming friends with her bully, it was too fast of a change but again they didn’t have time. The fake genie story again didn’t have enough time to do that justice and so it felt really rushed and weird. Also if this fake genie is so pretty in real life why wouldn’t she just build a brand on social media as well? She really didn’t need to pretend to be someone else, she could have easily done well on her own. It has some interesting themes and was a fun ride.

I would recommend if you want a short, easy drama to check out!

High School Love On Episode 20 Final Recap January 2, 2015

Episode 20 starts with Sung-Yeol in the hospital and Woo-Hyun is concerned he won’t wake up and wished it was him. Mrs. Ahn tells him he saved him and that he will wake up. Two years later Woo-Hyun is at college and is waiting in shelter because of rain and a girl next to him gets her umbrella out and notices that her necklace is the key to his but she leaves before he can get a proper look. At college Sung-Yeol goes on lots of dates and Woo-Hyun goes home and Sung-Yeol’s dad is working the restaurant.

Ki-Soo is working with Young-Eun and they are dating. Mrs. Ahn is at school counselling 2 girls that don’t have any dreams she drops the picture of Sung-Yeol and Woo-Hyun in front of them and she tells him she can meet college boys like this if they go to college. Sung-Yeol is outside a convenience store to get out of the rain and Seul-Bi and Sunbae go into the store to have a snack and Sung-Yeol notices her and she notices him.

Sunbae decides to leave quickly and she sees him in the rain and goes back and gives Sung-Yeol her umbrella and goes with Sunbae under his. At home Woo-Hyun reads the letter Seul-Bi sent him from that day and it says that even if they can’t recognize each other that with the necklaces they will be able to find each other and that she will love him even if she can’t remember him. At home there is a flashback and Sung-Yeol’s dad tells Mrs. Ahn that he quit his job and wants to be a good father now to Sung-Yeol and Woo-Hyun. Sung-Yeol’s dad working the restaurant and Seul-Bi comes in because she saw a posting for help needed. He asks her where she has been and she doesn’t know what he is talking about but that she needs the job for rent and tuition. Woo-Hyun comes home and he sees her and runs and hugs her she gets upset and slaps him. 

He starts crying and she says she is sorry and wipes away his tears and she has a slight flashback of him. Sung-Yeol comes and she recognizes him as the umbrella guy. Later Sung-Yeol tells Woo-Hyun that she is not Seul-Bi but Woo-Hyun believes it is Seul-Bi. Sung-Goo meets with Sunbae and he tells him that he saved Seul-BI and didn’t disappear thanks to him. But her memory disappeared instead of memories of her and Sunbae says he doesn’t want to let her go and that his feelings haven’t changed just like the humans. He tells him Woo-Hyun carries Seul-Bi’s hurt but Sunbae’s love is hurting even Seul-Bi’s love and that even if they don’t remember they will still feel something, they are connected by invisible strings. Seul-Bi is working at the restaurant and everyone is pretending to work but are actually watching her. Seul-Bi finishes work and Woo-Hyun walks her home and she asks about Sung-Yeol because she is interested in him. 

Sunbae comes out and tells Seul-Bi to come in. Woo-Hyun meets with Sung-Goo and he tells him that she is Seul-Bi and he didn’t tell him because everything needed to fall into the proper place. He tells him that there was an accident when Seul-Bi saved him that when she sacrificed another sacrificed to save her and he tells him it is Sunbae and he has now become human too. He tells he doesn’t know if her memory will come back but he hopes it will through their love. Ki-Soo and Seul-Bi is at the restaurant and he tries to get her to remember him too but she doesn’t. 

Tae-Ho, Joo-Ah and everyone gathers at the restaurant to try to figure out how to bring her memories back. Joo-Ah and Tae-Ho are walking and he asks her if work or him are more important and she says work and he gets hurt and walks away. Seul-Bi goes home and meets Sunbae and she tells him that Woo-Hyun’s looks bother her because sometimes he looks at her warmly and then sadly. At the store Seul-Bi wants to cut off the locks on the outside of the store and Woo-Hyun stops her and he tells her he will fire her if she does that and that stops her. Tae-Ho goes to see Joo-Ah at her workplace and he is upset she hasn’t even called him. He tells her he knows she took another semester off again and she tells him if she works she can go back next semester. He gets on his knees and gives her his money he has been saving up and she is upset he is showing off his money. She tells him she doesn’t need his help and will be fine all by himself and he tells it was because he was always there and that he wants her to stay well for the two years he is gone. She figures out he is doing his 2 year mandatory enlistment and tells her he will wait for her even if she can’t wait for him. She hugs him and tells him that she will wait for him. 

Sunbae at home fixes the light and the door for Seul-Bi, Woo-Hyun comes and tells him to take care of Seul-Bi because he is going now and that her memories will come back. 

Jae-Suk sees some kids taking other kids money and he tries to stop them and when they are about to bully them they hear police sirens so they run away. Da-Yeol comes from around the corner and she used her cell phone and pylon to project the siren noise. He asks about her audition and she tells him they want her to go to group practice and he hugs her.

Woo-Hyun walks Seul-Bi home and her shoelace is undone so he stops and does it for her. He asks about her necklace and she tells him she doesn’t remember how she got it but it feel like a part of her. He tells her the necklace is to lead her back to the one she loves and she wants to fall for a new person so she wants to take it off and he says quickly it will need you to new loves too. She asks if he has one too and that it must have been a gimmick to get people to buy the necklaces. At school Seul-Bi tells Woo-Hyun Sunbae has left and has gotten a job. She goes and finds Sung-Yeol and he tells her to stop following her and she asks if she can have a crush on him and he says no and until she gets her memory back to get lost.

Sung-Goo has taken Sunbae and he is going to be working at Woo-Hyun’s old high school and meets with the other teachers because he is going to be the new literature teacher. Seul-Bi at the restaurant finds the heart she drew on the white board and it is highlighted to her and she has a flashback. As she is walking later Woo-Hyun is following her and he comes and talks to her and she tells him Sung-Yeol rejected her and she starts crossing the street and is about to be hit by a car and Woo-Hyun pulls her back.

He walks her home and she is upset and crying and she flashbacks to the previous accident and then all the memories come back to her. Woo-Hyun can hear a heartbeat and sees Seul-Bi crying and she tells him she is sorry she remembered too late and he hugs her and cries too saying he has missed her.

Everyone has gathered at the restaurant for a christmas party and Woo-Hyun and Seul-Bi are acting cute to each other. 

The final episode ends with the two of them holding hands while walking saying they are enjoying being in love in their twenties.

 

Thank You Everyone for bearing with me as I have been slow on these recaps! I have been having some personal issues which has stopped me from writing these on time!

 

So this drama is finally over! I have enjoyed this drama but I have found it to be too long! I am sure that it could have been shortened to even 10 or 16 episodes it just was not necessary. This drama was a very sweet drama with the love between Woo-Hyun and Seul-Bi and it was nice but it also had dark elements to this story with death and the character change of Sung-Yeol. Sung-Yeol’s character throughout this drama was frankly just strange at the beginning he was normal a little cold and then he warmed up, then went crazy and evil and ended with him being a playboy and really happy!? it was kinda strange and I am not sure if I really liked his character at all!! I am satisfied that it had a happy ending and that it worked out for everyone! but I mean it seems kinda unrealistic that three guys would all love her and 2 would go crazy and do evil things because she didn’t love them back! One thing that was weird is the logic in this drama with her being an angel and Sunbae saving her? how? and why did he become human? What did she think she was after she lost her memories? wouldn’t she realize she had none? What happened to the timer on her wrist? It was a strange wrap up and they sure milked her getting her memories back in this episode they literally waited for like the last 5 minutes!! One thing I have to say is that I definitely found Sung-Yeol’s dad to be really attractive! I really liked his looks and personality!!

Also just to note that Woo-Hyun was won the vote for who Seul-Bi should end up with, with about half the votes!!

High School Love On Episode 19 Recap/Summary December 31, 2014

Episode 19 starts with Seul-Bi passed out and Woo-Hyun finds Jae-Suk and stops him and from touching Seul-Bi and then punches him. Woo-Hyun tries to take Seul-Bi in and Sung-Yeol is sick and barely opens the door for them. They take Sung-Yeol to the hospital and he has flashbacks to the time he had fun with Woo-hyun and Seul-Bi. He wakes up and Mrs. Ahn comes running in concerned about him and he notices she is wearing sandals even though it is cold outside.

Woo-Hyun makes Mrs. Ahn wear his shoes because it is cold outside and tells her he is glad that she is a good person. Sung-Yeol goes home and his dad is sad for him too. The next day Sung-Yeol goes to his dad’s room and finds papers for a divorce. Seul-Bi finds him looking at it and encourages him that they can help stop them from getting a divorce. At school Woo-Hyun stops Jae-Suk and asks if he wants Seul-Bi to disappear and he says because everything is her fault and Woo-Hyun replies that Seul-Bi is concerned about him and without her he will be alone for the rest of of his life. Woo-Hyun finds Sung-Yeol and Seul-Bi and they are acting nicer to each other and he makes Sung-Yeol wear the yellow bracelet.

Sung-Yeol tells him about the divorce and he asks him to talk to Mrs. Ahn. Sung-Yeol runs into Mrs. Ahn and he tells her to call his dad first because he isn’t good at returning calls and apologizing. In gym class they get a group of students together and they want to come up with an idea to Young-Eun’s sister to help pay for the medical help that she needs. Da-Yeol goes to Jae-Suk and ties the yellow ribbon on his wrist and tells him he should have been nice and tells him to fit in.

Seul-Bi then talks to him that its okay to be different and to be with everyone so he doesn’t feel different and then high fives him. At the restaurant they are having a fundraiser for Young-Eun’s sister. Jae-Suk meets some other high schooler students and they want to fight him. Jae-Suk starts fighting and Tae-Ho and Byeong-Wook show up and help him fight them. Tae-Ho, Byeong-Wook and Jae-Suk come to the restaurant and they put him to work for the fundraiser. At the end the teachers come and they also give money towards Young-Eun’s sister surgery. Ye-Na and Ki-Soo go to the hospital to see Young-Eun and give her the money. Young-Eun is upset a t Ye-Na for flashing her money and making her feel bad and doesn’t want to accept the money. Ye-Na is crying and says she has never known she had a sister and wants to meet her. Ye-Na hugs her and says she is sorry she didn’t know she was having such a hard time and Young-Eun also starts crying.

At home Woo-Hyun asks Mrs. Ahn what his father was like and she says he was a good man and they got divorced because they both wanted to lean on each other. Woo-Hyun says they should have leaned on each other and that she shouldn’t have regrets again and to work it out with Sung-Yeol’s dad. She gives him her necklace because the miracle of finding him happened and that he should give it to the girl he likes so he can stay with her forever. The next day Woo-Hyun, Seul-Bi, and Sung-Yeol go and have fun at a skating rink where they curl, skate, sled, and get a dog sled ride.

They also write letters that will be sent a year from now. The three of them take a picture and in the picture Seul-Bi turns gray for a few seconds.

At the restaurant Young-Eun comes in and Ki-Soo asks about her sister and she is doing well. Young-Eun wants to work there so she doesn’t feel indebted to anyone. Woo-Hyun goes home and Mrs. Ahn asks him a bunch of questions and he feels good that he has a mom to come home to that cares about him. He tells her Sung-Yeol is back to his old self and she tells him that she took care of Sung-Yeol but never gave him her heart and all she did was give Woo-Hyun her heart but did nothing for him.

Seul-Bi and Sung-Yeol talk to his dad and tell him that they want to go out for supper today and he agrees. Sung-Yeol walks his dad out and tells him to be careful when running after fugitives and his dad is happy that he has his son back. Joo-Ah gets a call from her dad wanting money from her and Tae-Ho comes up behind her to surprise her and he can’t because of what she is talking about.

The toy goes off and she finds him and she starts crying and he tells her to hit him and she does while crying. Woo-Young, Mrs. Ahn, Seul-Bi, Sung-Yeol and his dad are at the restaurant and they all agree for the divorce because the dad didn’t make an effort towards Mrs. Ahn. They give all these reasons sarcastically about them giving up so easily so they should just divorce and they all laugh.

Woo-Young, Sung-Yeol and Seul-Bi go for a walk together and he teases Sung-Yeol that he is the older brother and he hugs him and they joke around. Later Woo-Young gives Seul-Bi his necklace that he didn’t know she had saved and he wears his mom necklace. At home Mrs. Ahn and Woo-Young talk and she asks if he think they can all live together and if she has a right after hurting him so bad. He tells her to help heal the wound and he wants to try having experiencing embracing a mother  and tell her thank you for giving him birth and that he likes Sung-Yeol a lot. Sung-Yeol packs his bag and leaves his house.

Seul-Bi talks to Sunbae and tell him that she wishes him happiness. Sunbae is outside and says as long as she isn’t back he can never be back, and he will prove that human love changes even if he loses everything. Seul-Bi goes to put clothes away and notices all of Sung-Yeol’s clothes are gone so she and Woo-Hyun go looking for Sung-Yeol. Sung-Yeol says to himself that he is leaving to live and to wait for him and that he will reflect on himself and learn a lot to come back a new man. He goes to cross a street and Sunbae is watching and takes control over a van and Woo-Hyun sees him and runs and pushes him out of the way. Seul-Bi comes over and holds onto Woo-Hyun, Sunbae comes and tries to stop the truck but is not able to.

Woo-Hyun is in the hospital and Mrs. Ahn is next to him when he awakes and he asks about everyone else. She takes him to Sung-Yeol who looks in rough shape and is not awake. He asks about Seul-Bi and she tells him that she wasn’t there and he falls to the ground and she holds him and he cries and this ends episode 19.

 

High School Love On 18 Recap/Summary

Episode 18 starts with Seul-Bi in bed with a bandage over her wrist with the mark and Sung-Yeol is watching over her. Mrs. Ahn finds Woo-Hyun in pain. There is a flashback when Seul-Bi was an angel and Woo-Hyun runs through her. Mrs. Ahn has a flashback when Woo-Hyun was a boy and at a pool with her and she answers a phone call and gets notified she is a teacher now and Woo-Hyun starts drowning in the water and Seul-Bi as an angel knocks the phone out of her hand so she will see Woo-Hyun.

She runs into the water and the lifeguard helps pull him out and get the water out of him. She feels bad because every time he is with her he gets hurt. Seul-Bi wakes up and refuses to stay home and goes to school and Woo-Hyun also refuses to stay home when he wakes up. In his room stuff starts falling down on them. Woo-Hyun and Seul-BI meet at school and he tells her not to wait for him because he won’t be there. Woo-Hyun goes to talk to Sung-Yeol about what was wrong with Seul-Bi and he doesn’t tell him. In gym class they dump the balls and tell Seul-Bi to clean it up with her superpowers but she denies it and starts cleaning it up and all her friends join in and help. She starts getting dizzy and then faints and Sung-Yeol carries her to the infirmary.

Woo-Hyun’s heart starts hurting. During class it hurts again and Ki-Soo helps him also to the infirmary. When Woo-Hyun falls asleep Seul-Bi goes to him and almost holds his hand but he moves and she runs away.

Woo-Hyun meets Sung-Goo the angel turned human and he decides to talk to Woo-Hyun. Sung-Goo tells him that Seul-Bi has hurt the mark on her wrist and that they are sharing the pain that when you are in love you ache for another. He tells him that he will have to wait for the mark to heal and if it doesn’t then she will disappear.

Mrs. Ahn meets Seul-Bi outside the apartment and gives her a packed bag for her husband because of all his stakeouts. Seul-Bi gives back her necklace. Her husband meets her in the parking lot and he tells her he only sees Sung-Yeol and has been a terrible father and feels bad because when he was beginning to trust her this happened and it breaks his heart this had to happen. He wants her to leave Woo-Hyun and she disagrees and he wants to know if their relationship is over and she tells him it depends on him.

At school they are going on a field trip and Seul-Bi is tired and keeps falling asleep everywhere and Joo-Ah has to wake her up in the washroom. She tells him she will be in the garden because she is sleepy. Woo-Hyun talks to Joo-Ah and she convinces him that they need to tell their school the truth about Seul-Bi because she keeps falling asleep everywhere and wants the school to help them protect Seul-Bi. They pass out the paper explaining her situation and everyone finds out she is an angel.

 Jae-Suk finds Seul-Bi asleep in the garden and he wants to see her wrist and before he can look Sung-Yeol stops him and tells him to get away. Sunbae comes and makes Seul-Bi disappear and Sung-Yeol gets mad and tells Jae-Suk to find her.

Everyone is out looking for her and a group of students find her and they want to find out if it is real and Young-Eun tells them not to. Woo-Hyun all of a sudden appears on camera and gives a heartfelt message about Seul-Bi and how he loves her and how he can’t live without her and it is broadcast all over the building. 

Sunbae is there and Sung-Goo stops him from using his powers.
Woo-Hyun is crying and saying he misses Seul-Bi and asks her not to leave him behind and she comes from behind and hugs him and tells him she is always beside him and they hug and cry together. 

All the students are touched by them and Ye-Na is upset and says she lost to Seul-Bi.  Sung-Goo talks to Sunbae and he explains that there love is different they feel each other pain and that he is just feeling his own pain. Sung-Goo explains that he will not be able to use his power on them anymore and that if he gains Seul-Bi he will lose everything. Sunbae disagrees and is told that he has lost to love completely. Seul-Bi and Woo-Hyun go and find their friends and they are all wearing yellow bands around their wrist in a way to support Seul-Bi in hiding her wrist. They put them on and everyone gives her a high five and she starts crying.

Seul-Bi finds Ye-Na and she is crying and she tells her to be good to Woo-Hyun, Ki-Soo finds them and tell them that Young-Eun’s sister is in the hospital and they need to go to a big hospital to do more tests but cannot afford it. Jae-Suk tries to pick on another kid and Tae-Ho and Byeong-Wook stop him and they remind him to keep Seul-Bi secret or they will stomp him again. Sung-Yeol decides to let Seul-Bi go and kicks her out and locks her out. She says she doesn’t want to leave him and he starts crying behind the door and he tells her to leave when he is still able to let her and she apologizes for not being able to return his feelings.

Mrs. Ahn sends Woo-Hyun down to Sung-Yeol’s to bring some food and as an excuse to see Seul-Bi. Seul-Bi waits outside for Sung-Yeol’s dad to come home and Jae-Suk finds her and asks her about the secret and why they didn’t ask him. He tells her that he mad because Sung-Yeol turned his back on him and that it is her fault and he tells her he is going to reveal everything. Woo-Hyun while walking his heart starts hurting and Seul-Bi bangs on the door for Sung-Yeol who is in bed and he is feeling pain. Seul-Bi starts to pass out and her arm starts shining brightly and Woo-Hyun sees the light and Sung-Yeol passes out trying to get out of his room and this ends episode 18.

High School Love On Episode 17 Recap December 23, 2014

The 17th episode starts with Sung-Yeol’s dad telling Woo-Hyun to get out of his house so Seul-Bi, Woo-Hyun and Mrs. Ahn are leaving in Woo-Hyun’s house now. Mrs. Ahn looks around the house and finds some of Woo-Hyun’s baby clothes and pictures.

Sung-Yeol and his dad are alone at there house and his dad tells him whatever he wants he should not destroy himself to get it and Sung-Yeol tells him he has come to far to stop so just to think of him as already lost and his father protests this. Kwang-Shik teacher has come back and everyone is happy. He gives Joo-Ah the money from her boss at the convenient store that wasn’t treating her well. In class Sung-Yeol was drawing attention to Seul-Bi’s arm and then it started glowing and she hid it and Woo-Hyun threw a paper ball at Sung-Yeol to distract everybody.

While everyone was writing their tests the words disappeared on the paper and then they came back. Sunbae is out in the hallway watching this. When the papers are collected and brought forward Sunbae makes them disappear. Jae-Suk blames it on Seul-Bi because he has heard that she has magical powers and that she should get them back. Seul-Bi goes to the front and Sunbae makes them appear again.

At lunch Seul-Bi goes to sit with Ye-Na and she thinks Seul-Bi is making fun of her and she also saw the glowing so she tries to see her arm but she distracts her. Joo-Ah and Tae-Ho sit with them as well and Woo-Hyun makes her leave and Tae-Hoo follows her. He finds Seul-Bi alone to look at her arm and Joo-Ah pulls them apart and she tells him to distract him that she likes him and then runs away and he yells that today is their day one. 

Seul-Bi paints Mrs. Ahn’s nails for her because she wants to be closer to her and Mrs. Ahn talks about how she doesn’t deserve to be a mother and Seul-Bi tries to reassure her. Seul-Bi then paints Woo-Hyun’s nails while he was napping. Later she comes and helps him take it off and then talks about how she wants to erase her shining spot and tries rubbing it too and cries. He tells her it is okay.

At school Mrs. Ahn cannot find the student’s test even though they were in a locked cabinet. A student overhears and then goes to class and gets everyone to pick on her and Sung-Yeol goes and grabs her and brings her away from everyone. Sung-Yeol and Woo-Hyun talk and he asks if someone is helping him and Woo-Hyun tells him that someone is trying to do what he is doing and Sung-Yeol tells him that he should give up on Seul-Bi so that the three of them can live here. Mrs. Ahn meets with her husband and she tells him that she can’t leave Woo-Hyun and Seul-Bi alone. He asks if she isn’t worried about Sung-Yeol and she tells him that she has to wait until they accept her. Woo-Hyun meets with Sung-Yeol and tells him to take care of Seul-Bi so that she won’t disappear forever and that he trusts Sung-Yeol because he also likes her and that he wants to stay with her. 

Woo-Hyun tells Seul-Bi to believe him even if it sounds like a lie and that he wants her to go because she has become troublesome and he is sick of being in danger because of her. She hears he is lying and tells him that she will believe his lie. Sung-Yeol comes and picks her up to go to live with him and he walks in while she is unpacking and she is crying and he tells her not to cry in front of him again.

At school Seul-Bi overhears Mrs. Ahn talking about how she can’t find the tests and that it will look bad on their records. Seul-Bi goes running through the school and finds Sunbae in the gym and he makes the tests reappear but they are shredded and tells her he will do worse things to get her back in her place.
 

Ki-Soo sees Sung-Yeol ordering Seul-Bi around on the phone and confronts him about it and Jae-Suk comes up to him after and tells him he switched sides and starts beating him up but Tae-Ho and Byeong-Wook find them and stop the fight. They stand up to Jae-Suk and he gets scared and they leave. At the restaurant Joo-Ah finds the book about angels becoming humans and she asks if this is real and Woo-Hyun tells her that he is scared he won’t see Seul-Bi again and she tells him she will look for more books about how to stop it. Mrs. Ahn comes home and has questions about Seul-Bi and he won’t tell her anything and she thinks Seul-Bi will be looking for the tests and Woo-Hyun runs to find her. Seul-Bi is at the school taping together all the pieces of the test together and Woo-Hyun finds her. When she falls asleep he helps putting them together and she sees him doing it and then pretends to sleep more.

Woo-Hyun calls Sung-Yeol to come be with and he runs over and meets Woo-Hyun outside of the school. As they are standing there a whirlwind starts around them and Woo-Hyun yells at Sunbae and then they both run in opposite directions and gets out of it. Sung-Yeol goes to Seul-Bi and helps her continue taping the tests. Sung-Yeol at home is found by his dad crying and he tells his dad he is becoming a monster and to keep him under control and his dad tells him he will restrain him.

In the morning Seul-Bi brings Mrs. Ahn the taped tests and she asks questions about her and Sung-Yeol pulls her away and they don’t answer. Woo-Hyun at the restaurant is depressed without Seul-Bi. Seul-Bi is walking with Sung-Yeol and she gets a text from Ki-Soo saying Woo-Hyun is sick and that she should come and runs away. Sung-Yeol runs after her and stops her from going in and he pushes her away. She falls and faints, her wrist starts glowing weirdly.

Woo-Hyun in the house is having pain and he clutches his chest and falls to the ground and this ends episode 17.

High School Love On Episode 16 Recap December 16, 2014

Episode 16 starts with Sung-Yeol trying to find out what the light was on Seul-Bi’s wrist and Woo-Hyun ignores his questions and doesn’t tell him anything. Sung-Yeol finds a angel turned human book in Woo-Hyun’s bag and finds that the light will shine when in danger on their wrists and Sunbae lifts up the book and freaks out Sung-Yeol.

The next day at school Woo-Hyun and Sung-Yeol talk outside and Sung-Yeol tells him that he thinks he knows Seul-Bi’s secret and Woo-Hyun tells him to not say it. Jae-Suk talks his tall gang members phone away and says he is using his data now. Sunbae then turns up the volume on the speakers at school and Sung-Yeol’s and Woo-Hyun’s conversation is able to be heard through the whole school and it is revealed that Mrs. Ahn is Sung-Yeol’s stepmom and Woo-Hyun’ s real mother.

Jae-Suk then makes the tall guy bring Byeong-Wook to him and he tries to drag him and tells him to go because he didn’t have his phone to even warn him. Jae-Suk then comes out and says he should have Byeong-Wook’s phone instead then. The two of them then run away from Jae-Suk and he follows Byeong-Wook. At the restaurant Byeong-Wook comes in and asks the group if Tae-Ho (tall guy) had been there because his dad got into an accident and he is in surgery now. Joo-Ah waits outside for Tae-Ho and tells him to go to the hospital and Byeong-Wook soon follows after him to the hospital. Woo-Hyun is in the restaurant alone when everything starts moving and shaking and he yells at Sunbae that him and Seul-Bi will never be separated and then runs out finding Seul-Bi and taking her with him.

At home Sung-Yeol and his father haven’t come home yet so Woo-Hyun is going to look for him. Sung-Yeol is at the police station and is in trouble for hitting a man and acts like he wants to be in trouble.

Sung-Yeol’s dad covers Sung-Yeol with a blanket in the cell and puts his head on his shoulder and goes to sleep. Woo-Hyun finds them and then leaves. Seul-Bi meets Sunbae and she asks him to stop hurting people and he says he doesn’t know why he is doing it and doesn’t know how to go back to being an angel and he is doing it because of her. Woo-Hyun comes and he tries to use his powers on him and she covers him and he goes in front and says he is okay as long as she is and Sunbae doesn’t do anything. 

At school Mrs. Ahn pulls up in the car and parents are surrounding the car yelling at her telling her she shouldn’t be teaching ethics. Woo-Hyun helps her inside. In ethics class most of the students leave and don’t take the class and she kicks out Sung-Yeol for listening to music. Ye-Na is ignored at school and then eats her snack in the bathroom crying and Seul-Bi pushes a drink in her stall. 

Tae-Ho comes into class and says he is going to kill Jae-Suk because he didn’t get to see his dad before surgery and doesn’t know if he is going to wake up and he punches Jae-Suk and Woo-Hyun and Byeong-Wook stop him. 

Jae-Suk finds Sung-Yeol at the gaming place and he tells him that he has become a tadpole and that he is scared of being left alone again. Mrs. Ahn and her husband are in their bedroom and he is packing for a stake put and he tells her she can get another job and asks if she doesn’t know where Woo-Hyun’s father is and that is not good to leave Sung-Yeol and Woo-Hyun together. She asks him if he only sees Sung-Yeol and doesn’t see Woo-Hyun hurting and that she is not going to send him anywhere and that she is going to raise him. He leaves and Woo-Hyun is in the kitchen and has overheard them talking.

At school Seul-Bi and the other group put together a petition to keep Mrs. Ahn at the school and Woo-Hyun pulls her aside and is not happy that she is doing this and says he wants her to resign. Woo-Hyun’s friends go and try to get as many signatures as they can but they are still lacking. Sung-Yeol tries to get others to sign against Mrs. Ahn staying and Woo-Hyun gives a speech that he can’t call anyone mom but at least at school he could see her and hear her talk and be around her and that moves the students to sign for her to stay.

The angel human has a board meeting and he decides that since the students are so passionate about keeping Mrs. Ahn and that even teachers with bad personal lives can still change students lives for the better. He tells them that they need to fight back against the parents and that they need to teach them through their actions. He rips up her resignation letter and Kwang-Shik the teacher that was on leave also comes back.

Sung-Yeol at home is reading about angels and Mrs. Ahn comes in and asks what she can do to make him forgive her and he just acts mean to her and pulls out her necklace. He goes to throw it out and Woo-Hyun and Seul-Bi walk in and Woo-Hyun tells her to just leave it and she tries to grab it away from him and he pushes her down and the necklace breaks. Woo-Hyun gets angry and grabs in and he tells him he won’t let him have Seul-Bi and Mrs. Ahn anymore and Sung-Yeol threatens him that if he says Seul-Bi’s secret they will forever be apart. Woo-Hyun winds up his arm and Sung-Yeol’s dad comes in and stops him and tells him to get out of his house and this ends episode 16.
